Do you think the new album will continue with the tendency of more Noel sung songs? from each album to the other (except MG - BHN) theirs always a growth of songs sung by noel, and don't get me wrong a like Noel singing, i cant imagine a song like the importance of being idle not sung by noel, i love his voice in ballads, he has great feeling on it, but i don't know i think its time to have more our kids sung tracks, he still is the lead singer if that continues he's gonna get left with the fking tambourine u know. Sometimes its said that he does not sing the songs he does not feel comfortable with, but is strange this happens always in noel's songs, he always sings gem's and andy's. Like perhaps lord dont slow me down is a top tune, it would have been even better with our kid in vox, imo,, i don't know, maybe noel is right and he's lazy, but i seen him alot more involve in the band, writing songs, developing the album, he plays guitar very good now, well i don't know if I'm making any fking sense... cheers

I think Noel gives Liam a shot at every song he writes. Liam either can or can't sing them. I think if Andy or Gem brought a song that Liam couldn't sing, they'd probably just bury it.
I agree that Liam would have sounded great on LDSMD.
I like everything the way it is.

It seems like Andy and Gem write songs that are in Liam-friendly keys moreso than Noel these days. For example, look at Turn Up The Sun or A Bell Will Ring from DBTT. Those two are not in open/standard guitar tuning (when they are played live, they use capos on the guitars). It seems like Liam's voice sounds pretty good live on those tunes compared to some Noel-written ones. Just something I've noticed.

Oasis have lost a bit of their vibe for two reasons. First, the production since Owen Morris left doesn't have that classic feel anymore... it's all too polished now, even with Sardy. The songs lack that big rawness and airy feel that made Oasis feel timeless. Also, Noel sings far too many songs. It was great for one an album and some b-sides, but he's singing almost all the songs he writes now, and the songs are generally much less exciting than they could be. I don't care if Liam says no one could have sung "Force Of Nature" better than Noel, because I can here it in my head and it would have been amazing if Liam had sung it. ..."I feeeel Like a Foooorce oov Natuah"...
Songs like Mucky Fingers and Part Of The Queue should have been sung by Liam. There will be people that will completely disagree just for the sake of disagreeing, but I'll bet there aren't any songs in which you say to yourself, "man, Noel really could have made that song a lot better than the Liam version".
Can you imagine if this next album was produced by Owen Morris and Liam was back to singing all the songs (save for one by Noel). It would be raw, huge, airy and exciting.

I agree that Liam would have sounded great on LDSMD. I dont know why but I've got a feeling we may get that on the new album. The released version is apparently only a demo so if its going to be included, as has been suggested, then I could see a more polished version with Liam on vocals - and I'd love that.

yeah... well I was hoping for the same thing on Force Of Nature when it came out as a "demo" on the "Love Honour & Obey" soundtrack. Sure enough, the boring demo version was released on Heathen Chemistry.

In one of those Liam interview that came out a month or so again the interviewer asked him if LDSMD was going to be on the new album and he said, "I don't know. I know nothing about the song because I don't sing on it." So I doubt it..
I agree he would sound amazing on that song. However to answer loungepop's question about a Liam song that Noel could have done better. I think SCYHO would have been better with Noel.

Maybe in the case of The Importance of being idle liam couldn't hit the hi notes,,,,, but mucky fingers, part of the queue...are not that hard to sing.... even i can sing em,, I'm sure our kid also can.....

Well actually SCYHO is the perfect example of what I'm talking about... You can hear on the Noel-sung demo how valuable Liam is...

I don't remember where I heard it but I remember Noel saying somewhere that for the first time, they were gonna try Liam on backup on a Noel song for this album. i don't know what song he was referring to or if he was just being general...but either way tell me that doesn't sound like magic

It sounds good on the acoustic Fade Away and D'Yer Wanna Be A Spaceman?, but I'd still rather Liam sing lead on everything.

Reading through this topic kinda gets me thinking who is gonna sing Stop The Clocks (If it is indeed included on the new album). I really want Liam to sing most of this album, but I have a feeling it is Noel who is gonna sing this one.

well Noel reckons Stop The Clocks is the greatest song hes EVER written so of course he's gonna sing it! Though personally I love Liam's vocals. I rate him just below Elvis (who is just top). I agree that Liam shulda sung more Noel-written songs though on DBTT, coz Noel while a great singer lacks the punch of Liam. I mean lets be honest here as much as I love Noel h has written some dud lyrics over the years, for instance: "Slowly walking down the hall faster than a cannonball..." Champagne Supernova Now only Liam with all his swashbuckling attitude can spin that into a memorable line and not a cringe moment. If we had a poll I reckon most people would want a fully Liam sung album. Though that isnt to say Noel aint a great singer and shouldnt release a solo album one day!

whoever sings on the released version of stop the clocks i want to hear the other sing it too just to hear it haha. Noel will probably sing 3-5 songs or so who knows. Both are great singers.

Yeah, Noel is a fantastic singer to, my favorite Oasis song is The Masterplan, and I own about four Liam-less shows on bootlegs. However, I want Liam to sing most of this album! Save Noel one or two songs, but at least not five. That would've been to much.

I don't have a massive problem with the band all contributing songs and noel singing a few on each album, as long as they are all top top quality songs. The only thing i would say is that i'd like a few more noel written songs sung by liam. On DBTT there was only Lyla and LTBL, there has to be more i think.

How 'bout seeing Noel singing Songbird right now: I think that little verse he sings sounds very good! I'm really hoping he will cover it in the future, but that will probably never happen. I think his voice sounds really "soft" (Sorry, couldn't find a better word) on this song, which is a nice change over the original I think. Don't get me wrong, I still love Liams version. The only thing that pisses me of about this clip, is that the Germans talk over most of the part where he is singing Didn't they realize they had an Oasis exclusive there?
