Forget Liam's voice, Zak Starkey can not play songs to the same skill as Allan White. OK ZAK IS A V. GOOD DRUMMER -(ACCEPTED!!!) But he can add anything onto songs to give them any twist or interest..... eg. Cast No Shadows, Wonderwall!!! (if anyone says otherwise about wonderwall, my only reply is fuck off!!), Most of BHN Most of SOTSOG!!!
AN OMG i despise Zak for 1 thing the most, SUPERSONIC....
I love this song with a passion...But we don't hear anymore of that!!!......fucker

when Zak came back alone on stage and started the drum intro of supersonic, it was the best moment of Sao Paulo's 2006 gig and probably one of the best moments of my life!

Well he could have put it a bit more succinctly (looks like a classic case of drunken japes and tomfoolery), but I agree - Zak is really gash. He makes Wonderwall, CS and DLBIA sound like total dirges compared to the way Mr. White layed them down originally. Saying that, I don't think Liams great new monotonous voice helps does it?
As for Supersonic, I think even I could play the drum part of that song.

Just thought I’d add my 2 pence worth!
I think Zak Starkey is outstanding and adds something new to the band. I thought his work on DBTT was really good. I do think the band wrote better songs for this album and it was reflected in the drumming, for example Mucky Fingers (although Starkey doesn’t drum on the recorded version of this track its Terry Kirkbride.) Also the extra percussion on Part Of The Queue by Lenny Castro really adds to the track. Zaks drumming on Lyla, A Bell Will Ring, Meaning Of Soul, Part Of The Queue and Love Like A Bomb really do stand out. I though that during the Tour for DBTT Zak Starkey’s drumming was great. Particular songs that stood out live for me because of his drumming were Lyla, Bring It On Down, Muckey Fingers and Rock ‘n’ Roll Star. On the LDSMD DVD Zak’s drumming at the end of Rock ‘n’ Roll Star is brilliant. Also Zak’s drumming on Cigarettes and Alcohol at the Brit Awards earlier this year was great too. I really think Zak will add something special to the new album, I can’t wait to hear it.
As for Alan White, his work on WTSMG is outstanding and under rated I think. His drumming on DLBIA, Champagne Supernova, Wonderwall really stands out. The bridge bit on Hello on the toms and the opening fill on Roll with is great. I just think that his drumming when performing live and on later albums was not as good.

The band is in the begining with their new drummer. Besides the upcoming album will be the second since their mid-90s era, when the band have the same line-up during two consecutive records. The first time around was WTSMG to Be Here Now and The Masterplan.
Although Zak hasn't joined officially... yet. But I believe we will see the band as an official five-piece in the next promotional pics. That new one was put on their MySpace. He will join them officially in the upcoming months.

The band did play supersonic during the last few shows of the DBTT world tour?
As for Cast No Shadow, Zak didn't play the song with the band on the DBTT tour and Terry Kirkbride drums on the the version of the track that appears on the Goal Soundtrack.
And talking of wonderwall, Alan White's drumming on the recorded version of the track is brilliant. Alan White's Drumming on WTSMG as a whole is great i think, however i think his drumming during live shows was nothing special to me. When the band do wonderwall live i'm not really impressed with either alan white's or Zak Starkey's interpretation of the song, but i think that has more to do with the way the band play the song live than the drummers themselves.
