As for songwriting, both have a few classics in the true sense of the word, whether you liked them or not. RHCP have too much filler on even their best albums, so that’s where they would come second in that category.

As for the rest, probably true. But then if we were judging music on the technical ability of the players, then we would all probably just listen to jazz and Flamenco Guitarists or classical piano or something.
