Personally, i feel the RHCP are the only current band that comes close to Oasis.
Of course, since this is an Oasis forum, we will all agree that Oasis is better.
I like the RHCP. Catchy, good unique singer, etc
But their lyrics make them far far superior than Oasis. Noel, and even Liam now, writes belters with great lyrics.
Thoughts on RHCP?

I like Stadium Arcadium, actually it's the only RHCP album I like.
But I don't compare them to Oasis coz they're 2 different styles. Maybe with Stadium Arcadium it comes a bit closer together but the RCHP make more funky music.

RHCP is a funk based on terrible lyrics i personally love RCHP but they do not come to remotely close to oasis on any level other then how mega they are in the industry ...oasis has always had more of a mature sound in comparison to RCHP and i bet you oasis will last longer in the music industry .... RCHP's last album is shit all the drum fills are very similar and to top it all off it was a double disk release aka "lets make a shit load of songs that are shit and just market them as the best album since its fucking long as hell... all kids will buy it then" personally i bought that album and i now regret it... i believe the chillis are not here to stay since their next album would have to be a three disk release with at least the first two disk to have mega tracks... all in all RHCP is nothing like oasis and never will be Oasis is so much better then them.

i personally love RCHP but they do not come to remotely close to oasis on any level other then how mega they are in the industry A few things: 1. You do realize Oasis had more hype than RHCP ever has and ever will have, right? You shouldn't get ahead of your own words like that... it can be a bad thing. 2. RHCP are better musicians. There is nothing you can do to argue with anyone on that point. I do realize you were referring to Oasis being better songwriters... and that may be true, but since they're such different songwriters it's not really worth discussing. RHCP has been around for over 20 years. Yes, 2-4 of those years did not present anything new, but the fact remains. The same thing can be said of Oasis taking long breaks.

I am not sure I could defend that statement with the line " The sink is full of fishes she's got dirty dishes on the brain " in the Oasis' catalog Still I can't reallly compare both bands, they are in completely different specrums of music. They are a great band, but for me, I can't compare anything to what I feel about Oasis... I am too biasis

until RHCP write a Live Forever, a Slide Away, a Song Bird, a Cigs and Alc, a Masterplan, a Acquiesce, etc they will remain second best
i like the RHCP sound, but yeah most of their songs sound the same and their lyrics are all gibberish. - ok, so are some of Oasis's, but the fact is Noel has wrote some stunning lyrics too (see above)

If you looked at their entire bodies of work, I think you'd find the peppers suffered through more missteps than oasis. Sure, be here now and sotsog were let downs in the eyes of many, but they still produced a handful of songs that are still strong today.
I think the peppers have come a long way in the last ten years and I actually feel their last 3 albums are their finest. Its always fashionable to claim a bands initial material is their strongest, but I think they have matured as songwriters and musicians in the last decade and it shows in their tunes.
But if you picked out oasis' top 25 tunes and the peppers top 25, if wouldn't be close.
matter of fact, if you really want to put oasis in perspective with any other band of the last twenty years, try that experiment with ANY act of the last 2 decades.
Guarantee you it'll be a damn short list.

Im drunk. Just came drinking with my buddy, he was buying, cheers to him. And hes got work tomorrow or today in a couple of days, however you like to put it . Well, first of all i think that the bands are too different type of styles that are very hard to compare to each other. And music at the end of the day is not about competition but about what works and what does not. RHCP are better musicians generally, at least in technical way. But in songwriter abilities they both can put some awesome shit together. Though, the result is bit different, the style they are going for. RHCP were fan of their music, at least in the Morning Glory days, but after that: BHN and SOTSOG, they said in an interview that they wished Oasis had some better songs...whatever... Yeah, and Oasis at the Brit Awards 2007, RHCP drummer was nodding his head in the crowd along "rock n roll star". RHCP is more bigger band obviously than Oasis these days, and generally accepted and known to this day. Oasis is underground, if you like to put it that way. Generally RHCP have made better albums lately than Oasis, like after BHN came RHCPs Californication, and then By The Way over Heathen Chemistry and SOTSOG... DBTT is at least as good as Stadium Arcadium, but theyre whole different styles still, though... The first band that i was into was RHCP, i dreamed of having a band like that...Only years later came Oasis to me...it was pretty easy to let oasis pass by you, cause there was nobody advertising it or doing anything. But now: Ive been digging Oasis attitude and vibe more than RHCP lately (2-3 years) and I think Oasis is a real rock n roll band. Not too much overanalyzing things, keeping them as simple as can, cause whats the point? I think there cant be really a RHCP vs. Oasis. They are too much different really. I think Noel respects RHCP on some level, but its not really taken into account cause the styles are so different. Its like two different worlds. Both bands have a deep respect for beatles. Too tired to write anymore, maybe Ill continue.....

Realistically if we judge both bands it’s clear red hot chilli peppers are miles superior, Musical talent: chilli peppers Song structure: chilli peppers Guitar solos and riffs: chilli peppers Songwriting: oasis (barely) Live performances: chilli peppers Influence: equal Better rhythm section: chilli peppers More famous and successful: chilli peppers

Oasis have simpler songs, simpler arrangements, simpler musicians. But that doesn't make them inferior. Chili Peppers can impress me with their technique (Flea is outrageous) but that lanky bloke who spews word salad all over the place is no match for Liam's cut throat vocals and Noel's melodic skills. Oasis - simple, direct and straight to the heart. Gets to the root of what songwriting is all about. Chili Peppers no match at all.

Oasis all the way. The Chilli Peppers don't impress me that much even though I like some of their songs.

RHCP have oftens struck me as the US's counterpart to Oasis. Both have songs which are recognizeable all over the world, irrespective of whether people know the band or not. When a friend of mine began showing me RHCP I couldn't have named more than one song but I knew about a dozen from memory as he played them to me. I had the same exact experience with Oasis when I first heard them.
