So where's this new found love coming from ?
Krock (92.3) New York uses Noel Gallagher Station Id's
Basically to ID the station they have 3 stars saying :
"I'm blah blah and your listening to Krock...."
Just weird since they hardly play Oasis songs enough ?

Webby, I'm curious...how do their (Noel and Liam) manchester accents sound like to the New Yorkers? For us, not native English tongue is almost impossible what Liam is saying on an interview...

I have a feeling that the English subtitles function on the new LDSMD DVD is widely used here in New York and elsewhere

It took me awhile but now as a full-blooded American, I can understand the Gallaghers without subtitles. My friends just getting into them and my dad (a new fan!) can't understand them. Also, WFNX the alternative rock station in Boston has Liam doing a station ID. "Hi I'm Liam from Oasis and you're listening to the greatest radio station in the world-- WFNX." With a slight hint of sarcasm but not too much...

I was the same way when I first started listening to the Gallaghers' interviews, I couldn't understand a word they said. Now I'm kind of used to it though, although I do have to have the subtitles every now and then.

I'm a Californian. I can understand Noel just fine but I have trouble with Liam sometimes. I think this is because he tends to slur sometimes.

after years of listening to everything that is Oasis I can understand them very well, I actually have a harder time with Southern Brit accent than with Northern. Still at gigs mostly when Liam talks I haven't a clue what he's saying... I think thats me just being a crazy person at gigs and not computing the words properly in my head being that oasis is in front of me.
When I went to Manchester in 2005 I think I said "what?" like 50 times the first day, after that thou you catch on.

Just heard the promo the other day with Noel speaking over Champagne Supernova...warmed my little heart. I don't hear much Oasis on Krock, but then, I don't listen to radio much anymore..Still it is comforting to have cbs fm and krock back. Just wish CBS would realize that 50s and 60s is preferable to late 70s and early 80s...Anyone else that listens to 107.1 The Peak? I can get it pretty well around my house on northern LI but once I get to the center of the island for work it just disappears...

I work at WCBS-FM and listen to KROCK quite a bit as it's a sister station. I hear Champagne Supernova and Wonderwall daily. Granted I hear Damien Marley's Jam Rock and Linkin Park about 5 times a day each.

The Peak comes out of the White Plains area so I suppose it wouldn't really make it out East...Its nice to have CBS-FM back...If only they'd concentrate more on the BETTER decades of pop music.

it would have been nice for the "old" 101.1 to be the oldies station we all want it to be. again. god, if you listen to 101.1 and 104.3 next to each other, you'd think you were listening to the same station...

I don't have any patience for 104.3 or 95.9 anymore. Classic rock extends past 6 PF singles, 3 Queen singles and your LZ of choice. But yeah, I do miss the REAL CBS-FM. I grew up listening to that (and WHUD) with my Dad on a daily basis. The 70s and 80s just dont cut it for "oldies". Stomko, please pass this along ;-)
