did it take the two of them to "make" Oasis? Sure. But the idea that Liam made Noel is an asinine thought. Noel was at least making a living when he joined the band... Liam was doing nothing but writing crap songs with Bonehead. Everyone thinks Liam is off his rocker now... imagine where he'd be now if not for Oasis? Good chance he'd have found his way to jail or death. He did join Liam's band... |

You are right it's highly possible he would still be a roadie or technician if he hadn't joined Liam's band, but I think the point @kitjenson was making was Noel had already found work with well paying roles in the business, albeit not as a musician or songwriter. Liam by contrast was still in Manchester and with his temperament it's easy to imagine without Oasis and the success he has had he could well have been a forty something who had the 'hard man' life of drinking, fighting and possibly prison or crossing the wrong person. Fortunately for whatever reasons we agree or disagree on ultimately Oasis were a success and made millionaires of both of the brothers, allowing them to escape their backgrounds and the pitfalls that are associated with them. |
