I'm not a fan of boxing, but Muhammed Ail once saying "Float like a butterfly, sting like a bee - the hands can't hit what the eyes can't see", inspired Marc Bolan to write this song: So that's pretty awesome. I think me and Beady’s Here Now should get in the ring. Queensbury rules.

So Liam's getting angry about the premiere of SUPERSONIC not being in Manchester now, is he?
Have to say, I kind of agree. Oasis are not only the most well known of all the Manc bands, but the Madchester scene was a massive influence on them, both in look and sound. We all know Liam started off an Ian Brown wannabe, and I'd say there's a bit of Squire and Marr to be heard in Noel's guitar work, as well.

More publicity.

Liam can do the one in Manchester with Bonehead and Noel can do the one in London with Russell Brand.

The could have perhaps, but that would have meant spending PR money and diverting some media invitations to Manchester, and given track record of most Oasis related decisions was that ever really going to happen?

They could have done something for both tbh. exactly my thoughts...... I mean it's a Manchester thing isn't it? I'd be pissed as well! In fairness it's an Oasis thing, not a Manchester thing- both the brothers may do historical revision at times but during that era Noel moved to London via Johnny Marr's flat then his own place pretty much as soon as they got signed, whilst Liam stayed on at the family home until he moved in with Patsy Kensit in London. Using the city or town your from is fine, but it isn't the most important aspect of the documentary or for my money the Oasis story. The music scene in Manchester undoubtedly influenced Oasis but by the same token it did other bands not from that city. I think if I was being cynical it's partly an older brother enjoying winding his younger brother up, who in turn is happy to kick off about almost anything these days. The point of the film is to document the rise of a band from an almost baseless fantasy ("We want to be the biggest band in the world") to self mythologising to fact inside a circa three year period- That story had a lot to do with London, Manchester and all around the world (pun intended) so what matters is it does a the story justice, not where it premieres. P.S. That bellend Russell Brand can at least turn up London just to remind everyone he still exists and knows famous people, preaching his hypocritical political views and undoubtedly hawking his books as well...ah there's something to look forward to....

LOL just kidding.... for ME (and prolly Liam as well haha) Oasis is a Manchester thing...... doesn't matter where you do live now, or where you lived at the time, it's where it started and where you are from..... but I do get your point as well...... LOL regarding Russel Brand...... what is he famous for anyways... marrying Katy Perry?

I do understand where you are coming from as well, I suppose my own views tint this for me because my business and personal successes came by leaving where I am from and never going back, aside from the odd day when family matters are too pressing Russell Brand over here was to me essentially a second rate comedian with an image, who post Katy Perry has tried to reinvent himself as a George Carlin or Bill Hicks type but does not IMO have the ability for it nor it would seem a healthy sense of irony when he preaches about capitalism and the current state of politics when preaching to the masses whilst living of the fruits of what he claims to despise. Thanks by the way for giving me another opportunity to rant about Russell- It's a minor hobby!

I think it is a bit of a weird notion that you are only allowed to feel connected to your hometown when you still live there. Our Gallaghers surely had their reasons to go away and not come back, so far. But with their mother still living there, Man City and surely some friends and other family, I guess they do still have strong connections and spend time there, even if they dare to live in London. That's not against you, actually. More against the clowns that feel the need to comment on Liam's rant with a scathing "why did you move away then" as if he'd read that and care.

Feeling connected to your hometown is fine, although as I already admitted I don't to mine personally. The point really is that if you want maximum PR have to play the media game, and with the British mainstream press aside from the BBC in Salford nothing exists outside of the M25 for the most part so London it is if you want to get much in the way of media interest. I think for Noel Gallagher it is a case of making the launch as successful as it can be from his point of view, and if it winds up Liam in the process all the better personally and publicity wise for him. Liam I can understand as even at the peak he didn't really put Manchester down like his brother and the memories associated with that period were obviously made in that city, but again I think this is simply a PR game which Liam is either part of or has taken the bait with the premiere location.

I agree completely with this Oasis are a manchester thing, oasis was conceived from mancs in manchester and in time I'm sure it'll be manchester that celebrates their oasis sons the most. Obv a london premier will happen as all films as a whole are premiered there. While guess Noel can see his celeb friends pat him on the back there, be nice if they do something in Manc even if the friends there are people that were there at the start which the film focuses on..

I like Russell Brand. Pin pin! Besides from our Noel (who is also known for slagging random people off - and Brand would be an easy target) even Morrissey likes him. I guess there are not too many people he likes so that says a lot
