Why, why is Roll With It so underrated?
DON'T EVER STAND ASIDE
DON'T EVER BE DENIED
YOU WANNA BE WHO YOU BE IF YOU COMING WITH MEEEE
Scandalous.

It's not a bad tune, but it's still the weakest on MG for me. It still baffles me to this day that this song was chosen as a single, instead of any other track on MG, or even some of the b-sides from the same era. However, I couldn't dream of ever replacing it on MG. The song fits perfectly between the fast opener Hello and the softer Wonderwall. And who hasn't air-drummed Alan White's intro at the beginning?

Why, why is Roll With It so underrated? DON'T EVER STAND ASIDE DON'T EVER BE DENIED YOU WANNA BE WHO YOU BE IF YOU COMING WITH MEEEE Scandalous. Because of the lyrics you just quoted. It's fuckin embarrassing man, aged terribly just like Wonderwall. I can't listen to WW anymore and I used to love it.

Wonderwall hasn't aged terribly but it overplayed. It is a great song but one of my least favorite Oasis songs. Wonderwall was never in my top 20, it was clearly a commercial hit, but never really got me going compared to almost anything else on first 3 albums. I respect it and recognise it's perceived importance...then once it became overplayed I kind of grew to hate it.

Anyone who has ever played this simple song alone on an acoustic guitar will understand the brilliant simplicity with which Noel was writing in the mid-90's. As for the recording on MG, it does come off as quite trite and plodding when compared to many of the other tracks.
For me it's still 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 times better than Hey Now!

I love Roll with it. I think the guitar solo is one of the most uplifting solos Noel ever wrote.
Kenson : I also like Hey Now. It's very melodic and to me has a place on the album.

Brilliant song, Whitey's drumming is fantastic on it.

Hey Now is the worst track on the record by far, Noel's acoustic demo of it was ok though.

he best live version IMO. Liam's final 'inside' is fucking great.
I used to dismiss this song for years, but it grew on me over time and it's a favorite of mine now, esp live.

Hey Now is the worst track on the record by far, Noel's acoustic demo of it was ok though. I like it a lot. It drags on a bit (it could have been 1 minute shorter) but it's very good both lyrically and melodically. I love how it grows during the last chorus near the end: " There's no time for running away now Hey now! Hey now! Hey now! Hey now! Hey now! Hey now! Hey now! etc etc"

Roll With It is a fucking brilliant song. I remember the hairs standing up on the back of my neck when I heard it first live from Glastonbury 94. It's simple anthemic brilliance.

Hey Now is great too. There isn't a bad song on WTSMG, it's sheer brilliance from start to finish.

I appreciate Roll With It's great hook and the drumming is the best part. I just find its sound dated compared to the likes of DLBIA and Cast No Shadow.
