So it's about time we did a Smiths elimination, innit. Let's start with their debut, a great album unfortunately (if you'll excuse the expression) marred by lifeless production. But perhaps that was the point: flat, weak arrangements that would complement Morrissey's depressing lyrics. So without further ado, j'ai l'honneur de vous introduire The Smiths. Je crois qu'ils vont faire boum ici - et je suis certain que leur musique vous sera fascinant!
The contestants: Reel Around the Fountain You've Got Everything Now Miserable Lie Pretty Girls Make Graves The Hand That Rocks the Cradle Still Ill Hand in Glove What Difference Does It Make? I Don't Owe You Anything Suffer Little Children Handsome Devil This Charming Man Jeane Wonderful Woman Accept Yourself Back to the Old House These Things Take Time This Night Has Opened My Eyes Heaven Knows I'm Miserable Now Girl Afraid
My first vote goes to Back to the Old House.

The Smiths rarely got it wrong in the studio, but if you mean the studio version of that, then I agree, but when you hear the Hatful of Hollow version, it immediately becomes one of the greatest Smiths songs in my opinion.

I don't get why B-sides are included in eliminations...

Wonderful Woman
Btw, I'm in the minority for sure but I think the production on the first album suits it just fine.

Forgot that there was a version of that song on Hatful! It's indeed amazing, but my vote stays put. And is that a vote for Back to the Old House?
