Another great one I'd like to point out:
Embrace - New Adam New Eve
Embrace songs (particularly the rockers) don't usually have enough bass, but this one is spot on.

Lots of cool basslines on this: Check out Jah Wobble's solo work, I think you'll like it.

I Shot the Sheriff - Bob Marley & the Wailers - This bassline is literally genius. Its the sheriff, if you know what I mean. Aston Barrett is a top 5 bass player for me. He basically invented dub with his basslines.
The Real Me - The Who - One of the finest performances on bass ever
Return the Gift - Gang of Four - Funky and post punk bliss. Flea knicks from their debut album so much. Awesome album. Great minimal vibes.
The Pride (Part 1 & 2) - The Isley Brothers - If you're into poppin' and slappin' this is brings the FUNK.
Ain't No Mountain High Enough - Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell - this is different kind of funk from those mention above. This kinda of walks and carries the song. It just keeps pushing and its allows the great Tammi Terrell and Marvin Gaye express themselves freely in and out over it.
Compared to What - Roberta Flack - One of the best jazz basslines I've ever heard. Love the syncopated rhythm of this track. Don't need an upright to play this.

One song which has a great bassline which is often overlooked is Girls & Boys by Blur. Though perhaps its because Alex James is mates with David Cameron which relegates it.

Love will tear us apart and this charming man come to mind, along with tonnes of mccartneys stuff. Girls and boys is great too actually There's loads more from Joy Division. My favorite ones: etc. Hooky's bass and Stephen Morris's drumming. A killer combo man!
