Twente represent Definitely something to be proud of! Listened to a couple of tunes now, and my mind is made up...I absolutely love their music.

PAUW are good. Great '60s-early '70s vibes, without sounding stale or cliché

I know it's tradition, but are bands selling sweaters and socks to make more money?

PAUW are good. Great '60s-early '70s vibes, without sounding stale or cliché and they're actually really good live. Glad you like them, biblical.

What are your favourite albums? I'd say mine are Pet Sounds (obviously), Smiley Smile (and the Smile Sessions), and Sunflower. 1. Pet Sounds (duh) 2. Friends 3. Sunflower Great to see some love for Smiley Smile, you don't often see that one being cited as one of someone's favourites. Surfs Up and Love You (the latter of which is Patti Smith and Peter Buck's favourite Beach Boys album) are also great.

Student Demonstration Time though.. *pulls nasty face*

I need more 60s and 70s Psychedelic Rock in my life! I'm really into psychedelic rock at the moment. It helps me relax and forget all the bullshit that's going on in this world. List of my favourite artists: Beach Boys, Beatles, Byrds, Cream, Doors, Jefferson Airplane, Hendrix, Oasis ( yes ), Pink Floyd, Primal Scream, Tame Impala, Traffic, Velvet Underground and Verve

Surfs Up and Love You (the latter of which is Patti Smith and Peter Buck's favourite Beach Boys album) are also great. Yes, Surf's Up is great too. The song Surf's Up is one of my favourite ever, it's so great and beautiful, I refuse to believe that it was written by just a human, it must come from the heavens. I've yet to listen to Love You however, as I still haven't properly listen to anything post-Surf's Up except the few tunes that are on my greatest hits collection. Yeah, Surf's Up is probably my second favourite to Pet Sounds. Sunflower is excellent too, gives off a lot of Dennis Wilson's talents.

I've just listened to the debut album by Sunflower Bean: some nice and very enjoyable tunes in there. Dropping my favorite track here. It reminds a bit of Alvvays, maybe lubeck will like it

So now I find myself listening to Jazz, and rather enjoying it. At least this stuff. I saw this record and immediately thought of The Jam's This is the Modern World (points to whoever gets why) and had to check it out.
Also, anyone heard this one before? This is incredible. Refuses to fade into the background, it is very capitivating.

I have heard Girls & Boys this morning on the radio. Is it me or this song is really poor ? I hadn't heard it for 2 years. I'm surprised it's still one of Blur's most popular songs, it really lacks of melodies.

Meat Is Murder is a fucking great album. But I'm still not a fan of the title song.

That song was pretty much the main reason I was completely baffled by the Blur-Oasis comparisons at first. One the one hand I saw Supersonic, Slide Away, Champagne Supernova...on the other I saw Parklife, Bank Holiday and that. I mean, it's catchy, but really simple and not at all representative of what Blur are capable of musically. Personally, I prefer its b-sides - Magpie and Peter Panic, both great.

I mean, every song off the first two Oasis albums is superior to Girls and Boys. Digsy's Dinner, Up In The Sky, Shakermaker, Hey Now!, Roll With It are superior songs, easily.

Neil's latest lot of songs are all a bit too lightweight, for my liking. I don't think he's been on the best of form, recently. But by jove, you'd know about it if he was. That bugger can write a ballad as good as the best of 'em!
