I'm in love with "Sway" by The Rolling Stones. Great song.

Anyone know the band Sloan? They are from Canada and indeed are Oasis-like, though they've been around since a bit earlier. I think they opened up for them in 1998.
Anyways, listening to the Never Hear the End Of It album, its terrific. I only have 2 of their albums but want to get to know more.

Jamie T releasing a new single tonight I'm not sure if people here like his music but I think he's good. E: I don't like it.

Chaos Devine doing Toto's Africa is the most odd thing you can hear.

I love R.E.M. IRS years, however after that it's hit or miss for me.

There's not enough love for R.E.M. on this forum A band that never let me down from 1983 to 1996- that's quite an achievement for any artist to constantly deliver

My parents always listened to REM in the car when I was younger. Songs like Imitation Of Life, Losing My Religion, Man On The Moon etc. brings me back to those childhood memories

I like Jimi Hendrix songs, I own several of his albums but I never really listen to Jimi Hendrix. Not sure why.

New Avalanches record is streaming in their homeland. A HQ stream from apple will be out soon. I can't wait for this thing. I feel like a kid again, I haven't wanted a record to leak this badly since probably DOYS. I've only heard Frankie Sinatra, but I'm expecting at least a soundtrack for the summer.
Been a fan of The Avalanches for 8 years and this is probably the longest I've waited for an album by an artist I love. I became a fan of MBV and D'Angelo, each a few years prior to their newest (long awaited) releases. It's been 16 years since "Since I Left You", and I've been in love with that record for nearly a decade. When I was a 16 year old consuming all the indie rock I could, The Avalanches changed how I thought of music and how I could experience music. A toast to them.
Tonight may have to last me all my life

I like Jimi Hendrix songs, I own several of his albums but I never really listen to Jimi Hendrix. Not sure why. There is a rough quality to his music that makes it less palatable in the mind I think, so I never desire to return to it. Like you, I never listen to Hendrix even though I quite like his music.

I like a couple of Hendrix songs, but otherwise it's not my cup of tea. One of my best friends is a huge fan though.

"Don't waste your words, I don't need anything from you." I just realised these were almost the exact words I said to my ex the last and final time I spoke to him. That was before I ever heard the song. Stone Roses are like, my destiny.

Since the HFOD thread died out/was killed off, I'll post here:
Even though Hymn for the Weekend has some awful lyrics, is pretty generic pop, and omits everyone in the band except for Chris and the producer, the melody is pretty strong. I looked up the chords for curiosity purposes, played it out on guitar, and it's really catchy. If only they had used it for better use than what they did...
