I'm listening to the Smashing Pumkins' Machina album, which was their last before 'reforming'. I've always loved this album. I love all the original Pumpkins albums from Gish to Machina but this one is really special. It IS rather bloated and long, I would have probably removed a couple tracks (Crying Tree of Mercury, Imploding Voice, maybe another) but its got a great sound and it is a rather bittersweet album. Also it features my favourite Pumpkins song 'This Time'.
I'm waiting for the special reissue of this album. Not only is my original copy somewhat scratched up after all these years, but I really want to hear all the outtakes and demos from this period. Knowing Billy Corgan, this could easily become another 7 disc set like Adore did. Very eagerly waiting for it but no news...I wonder why.

Sitting down to listen to the new Paul McCartney best of/greatest hits/compilation/whatever you wanna call it, track 1 is "Maybe I'm Amazed" and man is that a fucking awesome song. Probably a lost Beatles classic. I forget just how good this song is.

Everything was, but this was one of the many outstanding songs.

Just listening to Coldplay - Parachutes, not a bad track on the album.
What the fuck happened to Coldplay?
High Speed, We Never Change, Everything's Not Lost, great album closers.

Anyone ever noticed the opening to Coldplay - Spies is quite similar to Travis - Pipe Dream?

I'll be honest, I've never even heard of them before. Could you recommend us one of their albums/draw us up a playlist of your favourites of theirs? Some ace tunes in that playlist of yours above, by the way!

Man, what an album Achtung Baby is...just hitting me properly for the first time. It really is terrific, thought its been a while since I've listened to it. I should do so again. I like The Fly, Zoo Station, Wild Horses best, and of course One.

I like The Fly, Zoo Station, Wild Horses best, and of course One. It's the breakup of The Edge and his exwife that makes the while thing so so great. One, Even better(gimme one more chance...),Who's gonna ride your wild Horses, Until the end of the world, Acrobat, Ultra Violet, Love is Blindness I could go on and list all the tracks. Amazing work

With tracks like One, Until the End of the World, Who's Gonna Ride Your Wild Horses, and especially that closing triumvirate, you have to wonder why more people don't consider Achtung Baby a breakup album.
Even the more "fun" tracks display a vulnerability. For example, Mysterious Ways, though superficially flippant, could be interpreted as a friend's attempt to comfort a man who can't understand why his girl is acting the way she is.

"Until the End of the World" might just be the best song off Achtung Baby and that is really saying something!

Listening to the new 1975 album (I like it when you sleep, for you are so beautiful yet so unaware of it) for the first time right now, kind of digging it.

This is the first concert I ever saw, and it´s one of U2 bests.
The outro of All I Want Is You fading into Where The Streets Have No Name is so beautiful...
