*Mods, please keep in the Oasis sections. Cheers.
Which is the better of the two: Live By The Sea or There And Then? Essentially, I think these are the best two Oasis DVDs. And while Live By The Sea has a lot of charm, There And Then wins hand down - every single performance on that DVD is perfection.

Gotta be T and T.
Supersonic on that is just perfect, probably my favourite Oasis performance.

There and Then, but Live By The Sea has the best live version of Some Might Say. Tony on drums.

No. Late Defintely Maybe version of Some Might Say? Yes. NO. OH YEAHHHHH..... Great drumming by Whitey but it sounds too professional. Tony's elementary work is superb and always fit the song better for me.

There And Then was Oasis at their peak best.

There and Then. A couple of performances from there are some of the reasons why I became such a massive Oasis fan. Liam at his best, Noel looking effortlessly cool, the power and the rawness of the songs. Oh, and that Sheraton Union Jack guitar...

It depends what you prefer I suppose sound wise. Live By the Sea to me is the sound of a garage band enjoying their first flush of success but with the visible tension between drummer and band leader/guitarist. I guess you could argue that makes for as more energetic performance,
There & Then by contrast is a band that has evolved into a stadium rock act, and they performed like one, albeit without the light show, pyrotechnics or general theatrics of say the major eighties rock bands. The performance was supremely confident and encapsulates not only how successful Oasis had become, but also at that point how infallible they were looking- hard to believe now unless you lived through those times.
Personally my vote goes to There & Then, but both recordings document key stages of the band's career, almost in a "Immediately Before and Straight After" overwhelming success came their way.

Live by the Sea is one of my favourite live videos ever. There and Then is balls in comparison. It would've been shedloads better if it featured the full Earl's Court and Maine Road gigs. But still balls. Stadium balls.
