Easy question, it seems. We all have different tastes in music but most the time people agree on what is a good song.
However, some songs can divide sometimes. So, what makes a good song for you ?
Let's debate !

Big ones for me: Melody Tight vocal harmonies are almost always a plus Arrangement and production

It should be communicative to trigger or transfer very strong feelings.
Originality and professionalism are also very important to reach your interest.

Production.
While you probably won't get away with dressing up a terrible song with a fancy arrangement, unless the song is really good, it won't sound right without those little moments in the song's mix that make it memorable.
That's why bad Oasis songs like PYMWYMI and I Can See a Liar are nice listens, because the production is, quite frankly, incredible.

Melody. Good vocals. It must give you some sort of feeling.
Lyrics aren't very important to me as long as they're decent lines and don't include derogatory terms.

I like this comment by Johnny Marr on the topic.

Hmm... That's a difficult one.
Usually it has to have either a decent chord progression, a decent riff or two or a strong vocal melody for me to jump on board. There are obvious exceptions when you move into different genres, but I don't think a clear unifying songwriting equation exists. Good lyrics and production are just a welcome bonus.

Good = Live Forever, Champagne Supernova, The Turning
Not Good = The Nature of Reality, The Quiet Ones, (Probably) All In The Mind

Good = Live Forever, Champagne Supernova, The TurningNot Good = The Nature of Reality, The Quiet Ones, (Probably) All In The Mind Bit random. The idea is that "good songs" are not necessarily all that similar to each other. It may be random, but is it wrong? I'd argue not.

Melody.
But that's not saying much considering two people can listen to a song and come to completely separate opinions about how strong or catchy the melody may or may not be.
In general though, I think people like music based on its melody first. It's probably the first thing we recognize in any song if it's pleasant to our ears.
However, this is not always the case. For instance, a group called Fever Ray made an album that is full of songs that feel very experimental. I'm not sure there is really much of a melody on most of the tracks. It feels more like an audible journey through musical concepts than an attempt at creating coherent melodies.

Basically boils down to two things for me.
1. Genuine expression for the artist 2. The art itself has to relatable to the audience to a certain degree
Originality, craftsmanship, arrangement, production, all play important parts in executing and communicating those two things.

I do agree on originality but then I remembered Don't Look Back In Anger is my favourite Oasis song, which is far from original since it has elements of about 5 or 6 different songs in it

A interesting melody in a phrygian or lydian mode, a 5 minute guitar solo with several diminished 7th arpeggios built in, a guitarist that plays his solo behind his back, a drum beat that uses three different kick drums (each tuned differently), a male singer who sounds like a medieval witch being burnt alive and you have a pretty decent song.

I would add a gregorian choir.

Don't Look Back in Anger definitely borrows heavily (imagine/all the young dudes), but the gripping part of that song - the chorus is 100% Noel. Might be the bars he is most remembered for as well.
