Here's my prediction. "Stop The Clocks" (the song) will be a good song, but NOWHERE near what we're all hyping it up to be.
For a long time Noel said that "The Masterplan" was the best song he ever wrote. Granted, that's a tramendous song, but you have to admit you're expecting "Stop The Clocks" to be far better than even that... Also, I was just watching an old interview with Noel where he listed his 5 favorite songs (that he had written) and he mentioned "Force Of Nature" as I think number 3. Imagine if "Stop The Clocks" turned out to be another "Force Of Nature." Oh man.

Here's what I want. I want the next album (even if Liam needs some 'help' in the studio) to be a mostly Liam sung album.
That's what I want. Almost half of the b-sides the last 3 albums have been Noel sung stuff. he basically has written his own solo album.
Anyhoo..............
Stop The Clock definitely sounds like a Noel 'Dad rock' song.

I'm surprised nobody else has anything to add to this.

Well, I don't think you have to be Nostradamus to predict that Stop The Clocks won't live up to expectation, it's not exactly going out on a limb. The level of expectation is such that it never could. Noel's comment about Force of Nature being one of his favourite songs doesn't surprise me if it was made a few years ago as he always bigs up the tunes he's just written/released. The Importance of Being Idle the best thing he's ever written? Do me a favour. All I can say is I hope the new album sees Noel go back to writing fairly simple but brilliant pop-rock songs sung by Liam, but hey we've been hoping for that for a decade. I fear we'll get a whole bunch of Noel-penned tunes along the lines of Force of Nature, Mucky Fingers and Lord Don't Slow Me Down. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

i like LDSMD. it's different. and the two drum solos are ace.
But a whole album of similar songs would of the LDSMD nature would indeed be boring.
I want another BHN but with better production and better lyrics. I want that mega sound!

Surely better songs should be the first priority?
