I know that Rolling Stone hasn't been relevant in a decade, Stylus was good but then it shut down, I'd probably forget that the NME existed if mossy didn't keep posting their articles ( ), and everyone hates Pitchfork, so what do you think is the best music publication?

Does the lack of replies mean that there are none?

There isn't really a true bonafide publication out there. Rolling Stone haven't been relevant in at least 16 years. They literally self parody at this point, much like the NME. Pitchfork is a little too niche, and snobby for some (they've definitely gotten better past 3-4 years).
Pitchfork Stereogum The Talkhouse Vulture Tiny Mix Tapes Noisey will occasionally have some nice stuff as well. Same goes to RS with regards to classic rock artists.
Steven Hyden a great writer, as is chuck klosterman. Their stuff if you do a google search is pretty wonderful. Hyden's musical tastes very much align with this forums. He is a big Oasis and Blur dude. Klosterman is just a great pop culture writer.

Pitchfork are really far up their own arse but their reviews can be well-written and well-informed, I also like many articles/reviews from the Quietus. Mixmag doesn't often cover what i listen to but when they do they're alright imo.

Really pleased you tagged me in this so I didn't miss it mimmi, thanks a lot. Genuinely delighted to see the mentions for Live4ever, very much appreciated - webm@ster and myself work to a fraction of the budget the other publications mentioned here have, so it's always great when we get positive feedback from our readers. (Good time to give a special mention too for Cast who joined us from the forum last year and is now a valued member of the writing staff.)
