Couple of high flying bird notes..... According to wildlife expert Ron Magill of Zoo Miami, weekly guest on the Dan LéBatard with Stugotź show, bald eagles, the national bird and animal of the United States, is basically a vulcher, gross. Crows and ravens are amongst the most intelligent birds; Owls, despite the saying, " wise old owl....", aren't very smart because of their eyes being big doesn't allow their brains to be an adequate size..... Also, my cat killed a sparrow about a month ago. Thanks. got jackdaws nesting in roof of my house. Tried to get rid of em but they keep getting back in. Outsmarted by a bird. I do quite like them though, maybe I'm subconsciously failing on purpose?

Call into the Dan LéBatard with Stugotz show on Tuesday at noon e.s.t., and wildlife expert Ron Magill of Zoo Miami might be able to give you advice on how to get rid of them, or get a cat and the cat will kill them. And, if you get a cat, post pics of it. Thanks.

This is from the Golic & Wingo show yesterday, a popular radio and t.v. show in the U.S.; surprised it was mentioned....that's not Golic and Wingo, those are fill-in hosts, and neither host seemed to care, obviously not big fans; they seemed to be most turned off by the name 'Amorphous Androgynous' but they did know who Noël is.... Thanks.

I prefer Bono with his hair like that, like the early 2000s again. Didn’t know as I haven’t been following U2’s latest tour because (a) they’re not even playing the best songs on their new albums, (b) they’re flogging dead horses like Best Thing and Get Out Your Own Way and (c) for some god forsaken reason they’re playing All Because Of You? Excuse me, what the fuck?

The guy in the clip was in a band called Perry, a country band, I think....he's a classically trained Juilliard violinist, really talented....but, I watch a ton of ESPN programming, it's all that's really on during the daytime, it's white noise mostly.....anyway, that same guy has said Bruce Springsteen and the Beatles are overrated, not sure how much his opinion counts.
The girl in the clip is really cool and smoking hot...
Thanks.

Would like to hear Riverman covered by other artists. Preferably with a piano.

I've finally got into WBTM but I still feel short-changed by it. It feels like half an album stretched out into a full release through a combination of making songs longer than they need to be (Fort Knox, Beautiful World, She Taught Me to Fly) and putting stuff on there that's pretty worthless (Be Careful What You Wish For, the instrumental/s). David Holmes made a really good sounding album but I think his self-imposed rule of only writing in the studio stopped it being what it could have been.
NGHFB - Good songs, but the album is rendered borderline unlistenable by Sardy's ultra-safe production
Chasing Yesterday - My favourite Noel album both in terms of the songs and the sound
WBTM - The worst collection of songs, arguably not a complete album, but a more enjoyable listen than NGHFB

'If Love Is The Law' is such an uplifting song.
Feels like a song Noel probably wrote in about 5 minutes one morning.
Love it.

Thanks. An ESPN sound guy loves him some Oasis... don't know if he still works there and can't remember his name off hand... but he used to play various Oasis tracks in and out of commercial breaks a lot.

http://instagram.com/p/BndOfDvBcdj I don't know when this was taken but I can see Nicole in there. I never knew she was close to Noel and Sara tbh. Anyway cool to see Noel having fun at a U2 concert tbh.

Haha. Noel calling Nicole Appleton divvy. Whatever next. From that same article: I gave Liam a pass for it at the time but looking back, he was actually bang out of order.

This one should have a place in the setlist. It should and with the band in its current form I think they should attempt one of Setting Sun or Let Forever Be, especially as they are more than comfortable playing Fort Knox and It’s a Beautiful World.

Two thoughts:
She Taught Me How to Fly is pretty cool. I love how it's a fun 80s sort of Blondie tune. The chorus gets me every time and the combo of that guitar riff after the chorus and the dance-y drums sounds so good.
'90s Noel acoustic B-sides are classic gems and Dead in the Water is right within the vein of Talk Tonight, Half the World Away, and Sad Song. It's an absolute classic imo. It's beautifully raw and emotional, and it happened so naturally which makes the recording we got, in particular, so good.

Noel is friendly with Nicole, Lisa Moorish (and knew Liams' daughter Molly before Liam met her), Russell Brand, Damon Albarn and Bono - people that Liam has past/present "issues" with or out-and-out hates. Sometimes I wonder if Noel does this kind of thing on purpose - just to annoy his brother? As if to show - "I would rather hang out with someone that you hate and that doesn't like you either (eg Lisa Moorish) than be around YOU." I really wouldn't put it past him. Hell, Noel slagged Richard Ashcroft earlier this year, lumping him in the same "army of songwriters" category that he puts Liam in! Not that Liam is any better! One day, it's love for Noel and how much he misses him and the next day it's "begging beige boy"! Neither of them care who gets hurt of* offended as long as they can "hopefully" hurt each other. I've heard them both in interviews that their relationship is "their" private business - which is hilarious to me, since they play this back and forth, tit-for-tat nonsense like it's not even being played on a public stage. It's a bit funny-sad-annoying to me. *edit: OR

I've been listening to "A simple game of genius" and "The good rebel" a lot lately. ASGOG is just beautiful - I love how it starts slow and soft with piano (?), then the electric guitar comes in, then Noel singing with that slight echo and then the drums! I'm not a musician - so please forgive my simple descriptions. I love the lyrics and the way Noels' voice sounds while singing. Hard for me to explain, but I sometimes like a song (from any singer/band) more for the way their voice inflections and how that makes me feel than I might enjoy the lyrics. For this song - I LOVE IT ALL! My favourite lines are " I'm in the song that's rising over ya, close your eyes and drift away". (Drift away and live to fight another day are in other Noel songs, very poetic to me) The end of the song is great too, because it's follows the opposite pattern of the beginning. The singing stops, then the drums taper off, leaving the piano(?) and electric guitar. In a way, it reminds me of some Irish songs (O'Sullivans march by the Chieftains is the first example I can think of off-hand) where it starts with a single drum, then single flute, then more drums and flutes, then the pipes. When the song finishes, it goes backward though the cycle and ends up with the single drum at the end and a hard finish. The good rebel just makes me feel good to listen to it. It makes me happy (I hate the sunshine too ). For being a man who can have a sarcastic, biting humour he sure writes some cheery, uplifting songs! I love all the lyrics, but especially: If heaven helps you, help yourself
I hope you never change
Rebel, let them help themselves
And wash the truth away ****** AND ******* For every man that will pass scorn
On every passer-by
There will be a star that's born
To fill the empty skyNoel, to me, is one of the best songwriters of all time. I put him up there with Lennon/McCartney. With Oasis/HFB, there are no songs that I hate. Some I like more than others. I like about 97-99% of Noel penned songs. The 1-3% are songs like Some might say - I like the song, a lot - but not enough to add it to my mp3 player. (I do however, have FIVE versions of Champagne Supernova and FOUR each of Cast No Shadow and Live Forever). Before Oasis, the only band that I loved that many of their songs were The Beatles. My favourite ROCK bands: Oasis The Beatles Pink Floyd (late Barrett/early Gilmour, pre-The Wall) Led Zeppelin The Kinks Jimi Hendrix Experience Not in the same class as the above, but I really like Southern Rock: Lynryrd Skynryd Allman Brothers ZZ Top (pre-Eliminator) Then, to a much lesser extent: Guns n' Roses and Def Leppard (don't judge me)

He's playing the Best awards tonight (FIFA). I've just been sent the running order.
He's presenting an award (I think) at about 10 to 8, and playing DLBIA at about 10 past.
