Oasis' last album came with a DVD? Is that pretty common nowadays? Should we expect the next album to come with a DVD of "the making of the album" or something like that?

Probably, it is getting rather common among bands and the last three main items from Oasis either have a DVDs included (DBTT and STC) or are actually a DVD (LDSMD).

Also the Heathen Chemistry singles were available as DVDs with mini documentaries of their tour.

some bands relaease 2 versions, one with DVD and one without DVD. I got DBTT with a DVD. Personally I mostly buy albums with DVD although I never watch some of them.

The DVD with the CD thing is probably to combat the downloaders. If the CD comes with something extra that can't be downloaded it's incentive to go buy it. But ya I think it's cool, I also like the Dual-Disc versions with the high quality 5.1 audio on the DVD side and regular stereo mix on the CD side.

Ya, I am a weirdo, when DBTT came out I was still at home and I bought the Dual-Disc format DBTT at the store with the double sided DVD/CD, I ordered the limited edition off Amazon.co.uk and then when I found out Best Buy were selling "the regular" CD of DBTT with the bonus CD that had the 4 live tracks I went and bought that one too.... and yes something inside compelled me to buy the limited edition STC with the DVD as well as the best buy promo that had the non-DVD version bundled with the EP...even though I already had the EP....

Well, I really hope the new album comes with a DVD. I really like watching them in the studio and hearing them talk about recording.
