I've seen a few posts on here refencing Liam potentially being able to play drums, i've had a look and found 2 pics of him potentially playing them, 1st is the most convincing it appears to be from the DOYS recording sessions: From this SiteThe tags are the most interesting: - drums
- oasis
- liam gallagher
- anetasmuskas
(not a clue on this one, anyone??)
- dig out your soul
I've also found this older pic, but not sure if this is just Liam pretending to be able to play (is this pic BHN era?): So does anyone for definite know if Liam can play drums? I'm tagging guigsysEstring and davidjay as they seem to be the font of all knowledge for obscure Oasis stuff!

Interviewer: "Is Tony the best drummer in the world?" Noel: "He's not even the best drummer in Oasis." *glances over at Rkid*

@beherenowisbiblical There are shots of Liam drumming on the DBTT sessions on the original making of DVD, and Zak Starkey IIRC on the same copy says that the band has "four guys who are all singers, all guitarists and all drummers". I would assume he can drum to demonstrate rudimentary beats for his songs based on what I have seen or heard, but havent seen anything that suggests he could do live shows or similar such as Noel with Tailgunner or Primal Scream. The latter is a reference to a 1994 MTV special for the scream referred to by Paolo Hewitt where thry were recording songs from Give Out But Don't Give Up, and towards the end their drummer went off for food so Bobby Gillespie shouted to Noel to take over on drums for another version of Rocks. Unfortunately at this point the film crew decided thry had enough footage and packed, so we never got documentary evidence of him playing several tunes with Primal Scream. Bobby later told Paolo that Noel was a "good little drummer". The picture was used on a bootleg from the band's show at the Fillmore SF on 1st Feb 1995, so I assume dates from 1994/95 though I am unsure where it was taken unless davidjay knows?

The gif is from, Gold, Silver, and Sunshine. He's playing pretty simple standard stuff there. But it's not too bad.

I think that second shot of Liam drumming was taken in New York during a break filming the original (UK) music video for Live Forever. Likely a shot taken by Paul Slattery, 22 July 1994 - Liam's outfit / shades match what he's wearing in the other pics from that session included in Slattery's book 'Oasis: A Year on the Road.' Useless fact of the day, right there

Yes, this is mentioned on pages 218-219 of Getting High; Noel was due back in the studio (presumably to mix the Monnow Valley recordings) but instead was taken to MTV studios by Alan McGee on 29th January 94, where Primal Scream were to perform 'Get Your Rocks Off.' After MTV got the take they switched off the cameras, missing Noel playing the drums with the Primals on 'Rocks' and the Rolling Stones' 'Jumping Jack Flash.'

The image of Liam on the drum appears to be in New York . A shot from the making of live forever in Central Park .

Isn't his younger son a drummer or wants to be one, according to a few interviews? So he certainly has the ... Genes. Sorry!
