Oasis haven’t had decent merch since the mid-2000’s. There’s some good looking items on here, the hoodie especially piqued my interest. I love these type of zip up hoodies in general. The Oasis logo on the front with the Definitely Maybe tracklist on the back in an aesthetic font. I would have been okay if there was nothing on the back, just the Oasis logo and Definitely Maybe logos on the front would have been better, keep it simple, but still probably going to buy. Birthday is next month, innit…

Do you have a link to that video? I'm from Spain and I'm very curious because most people here know about Oasis. The reunion made the front pages of all newspapers and there was a lot of talk about it. I'm guessing maybe the people in the video are gen Z? www.instagram.com/reel/DAB9mh9urSK/?igsh=MXBsMHljd2t5eG9rag==Look at how young most of those interviewed are. Subtract 15 years from their current age and most were infants when Oasis split…

I love the plosive sound you get with Liam's vocals sometimes, when he's really going for it. There are some great examples in 'My Big Mouth':
"Everybody knows, but no one's saying nothin'.
It was a sound so very loud, but no one can hear."
and obviously the chorus:
"So guess who's gonna take the blame For my big mouth and my big name? ... Into my big mouth you can fly a plane!"

Just spotted that the book, 'Oasis: Knebworth: Two Nights That Will Live Forever' is on sale on Amazon UK at the moment, in case it's of interest to anyone

It's a shame they didn't play MBM more often. The Knebworth version kicks ass. Noel really developed a feel for Liam's voice, particularly after DM. He started treating it like an instrument and knew exactly what would sound cool. It worked so so well. To the point that you can easily tell which songs were intended for Liam (Record Machine) and they just don't work as well when Noel sings them imo

It's only then you rea liiiize, of whose life you have been mess iinnn" Haha. Yeah, that’s my favourite verse. He bites chunks out of those “ize/eyes” bits. More Johnny Rotten than Johnny Rotten. And of course the addition of an extra “ah” syllable at the end of some words, like he used to do on practically every line of every song on the Morning Glory tour: “waaaay-ah!” and “realiiiiize-ah!”

To me, all of NGHFB1 except for the TDOYAM and WAL should have been sung by Liam.

Yes it did get noticed at the time that the crowd were a bit quiet. I think it was one of the biggest venues the band had ever played in the US up to that point, over 20000 people I think, which might have been why it was filmed. The Tweeter Center in Mansfield was celebrating its 20th anniversary on that very day, June 24.

Council Skies >>>>> Chasing Yesterday.
And I like CY just fine. But I’ve grown to really like the chill Council Skies. Shame it’s the only NG release in his entire career to not hit a UK #1, as it came in at UK #2.

my Oasis thoughts for today... hmmmm, I know it will never be a thing, but I'd love to get official 8 track tape versions of their stuff. Their influences come from bands of the 8 track era anyway, and I been getting into that format since June. It's fun.

Mucky Fingers is a tune. Especially live with the drumming outro which Zak blasts brilliantly through. Fuck the haters. It’s a good tune. Strong lyrics.

So my curiosity got the better of me and I checked those Monnow Valley mixes out and...
I think me being into more classic rock these days makes me appreciate the more dry sound of those DM Monnow Valley mixes more than the mixes on the actual album. Its almost like they were a mid to late 70s band on steroids in these mixes.
I mean sure, some things are missing in these mixes but.... I like that rawness, that dry sound. When you listen to as much classic rock and 8 tracks as I have, it grows on ya.
