So she hadn't even written the article yet, no one knew one angle she was going for, and she was still attacked... this is the world we live in today. Fight first, figure out if your fight was worth it later. That's awful. Once again, new fans, of any age or gender, are always welcome. That's been the whole point all along. No way Oasis ever said or felt "our music is only for blokes our age" when they started. That's absurd. Her reply wasn't even the only one either, it was insane watching a bunch of middle aged women act like children Far too many people take things much too personally these days. They react rather than actually think. There's lots of angry people out there wanting some kind of outlet for that anger and it gets misplaced, rather than finding ways to cope with it. That's my take anyway.

Just realized that DOYS and NGHBF1 are brothers record. DOYS is the heavy one, NGHFB is the softer one. But they really do have the same tone. I've always thought HFB1 would have been the next Oasis record had the band not split when they did. If you listen to tracks like Falling Down, or Noel's alt version of Waiting For the Rapture, you can hear the HFB sound starting to form I don't think you're wrong. Liam accused Noel of "just using" songs he'd written for Oasis's next album, and Noel hit back with "What do you think they're doing?", They being Beady Eye. And of course both of them would use the songs they'd already written. What else would people expect them to do with those songs? So you could very well be right.

I remember back when it was released somebody asked Liam if he had listened to it and he replied something like "listened to it? I've sang half of it". My guess is some songs besides Record Machine and STC were demoed during DOYS sessions. Based on stuff Noel said at the time I think Soldier Boys and Jesus Freaks was one of them.

Yes, you're correct! I've done some digging and, according to interviews with Noel from circa 2008, the following songs were all demoed by Noel and Gem using a toy drum machine during the mixing sessions for DOYS: 1. Soldier Boys & Jesus Freaks 2. Stranded On The Wrong Beach 3. Dream On 4. Freaky Teeth Plus you have RM & STC which were demoed for Don't Believe The Truth and Come On Outside from the initial DOYS sessions. Even songs such as If I Had A Gun, Everybody's On The Run, Simple Game of Genius & I'd Pick You Every Time were soundchecked during the DOYS world tour. EDIT: I can also add The Death Of You and Me to this list, was likely written during the tour

It was really from SotSoG (or maybe even BHN) that the dynamic started to change and there was more testosterone. There were loads of girls during the zenith. And that’s better. Give a good mix of genders and backgrounds and you get a better gig. Oasis does not need a bunch of coked up arseholes throwing their pints of piss around the place. Exactly my point, the fans were always diverse, and that's a great thing. Exactly this. I'll be honest, I don't know too many UK based POC who like Oasis. Doesn't mean they don't exist and I am sure theyre are hundreds on this forum. The majority of Oasis fans are white males, and that means a load of them are 40 / 50 years old. However, Oasis are a band. Not a political movement or a religion. Anyone is welcome. Don't get me wrong, when I'm at the gig, if I'm sat next to some little idiot who is chatting away during the songs I will be annoyed, but I think the biggest reason this reunion is happening is because they keep noticing a younger crowd at their gigs. If they announced a reunion and it was full of 50 year old Wellends, then Oasis could not have been considered a success. As it happens, a load of kids want to go see them and that is fantastic.

It astounds me that after this reunion was announced, the most number of people on this thread is still from 2017 when Liam announced his solo album.
Not really sure what to take from it - it is just a bit mad.

They actually have a decent chance at holding on as most of these figures must come from streaming The brothers' singles are usually frontloaded with Itunes/Vinyl pre-orders, but this ain't the case

So Tour in 2025, so will Noel start writing his travel diary again like he did until around 2015? Ps. I'm not counting the scissors account. I add, in my opinion a documentary will definitely be made.

Another live track from the vaults has been posted by an official production company - this time an acoustic performance of Stop Crying Your Heart Out in Australia from 2002.

She said her name was... Dot? I don't recall this person, these stories or these pictures surfacing before. Have we just found the real identity behind another person in a Oasis song/lyric? So cool! https://www.tiktok.com/@drdots/video/7409626385133620523

Just had a daydream that Oasis opened in Cardiff with Hindu Times and the brothers shared the mic for the chorus…..
Ahh, lots to look forward to!

With all this hype about Oasis at the moment and likely for the next couple of years, they're going to be selling more CDs, vinyl, merch etc etc.
Anyone think there's a chance that Familiar to Millions CD and vinyl will be reissued? I would absolutely love to have it on vinyl, but I am not paying the €600+ it's going for on discogs etc.

Even if they did another 2000 - 4000 for record store day I'd snap your hand off. If the band want money, then give us product. I should work for Oasis, I have so many amazing ideas.

It used to bug me that they never got the intro live to match what they recorded because I love how the album version sounds, but that's not as much of an issue as time has gone on. Top tune.

I think he once described FTM as the lowest point in his time with Oasis or something along those lines. I'm sure there would be a queue round the block for people to get involved in that, just give it to one of them. New LP, 2x CD and Bluray set, thanks very much.

The band sounds great and Liam's gorgeous "new" abrasive voice is hypnotic. The band at that concert sounds like they were the Pink Floyd of Britpop. Noel sometimes talks absolute bullshit and in some cases praises shit and belittles gold. I always hope for a remix or at least a remaster of that concert. I would even pay £100 for it.
