On this day 27 years ago Oasis released their D' You Know What I Mean single. I remember buying the cd single and it nearly killing me having to wait till I got home to listen to it.

We've lost something incredible in that. Ordering a physical single and getting 2-3 b-sides with it that you couldn't hear anywhere else? Those discs were more valuable than gold.

Yeah, I agree with you and in those days of course we had three new unheard songs to look forward to before they changed the rules to only two b.sides.

this is real? To me it sounds like several recordings mixed together, it sounds fake, but maybe someone here knows something about that

To me it sounds like several recordings mixed together, it sounds fake, but maybe someone here knows something about that The description attributes the recording to the Definitely Maybe US Tour, which ran from September to October '94. If this is legit, I assume it's a taping of a soundcheck from one of these shows. Also interesting to note that the description mentions an unheard Noel ballad, as well as an early version of "I Hope, I Think, I Know" as originating from this same time period.

This song IA sounds really good. (I hate to say that, because I'm totally against songs made by IA)

I’ve been thinking 30th Aug seems a long time away for DM, wish it would arrive, been a long time since I looked forward to a release this much after hearing Columbia.

417 live Dylan tracks is insane. Can you imagine Ignition's version of this? At least 35 recordings of DLBIA all taken from the same tour (probably peak Kermit Liam too) and all of them indistinguishable from one another. All for a mere 800USD.

Didn't know where else to put this so I thought I'd post it here - got an Epiphone Inspired By Gibson 1957 SJ-200 today (ok technically yesterday now that it's past midnight but whatever), such a beautiful instrument! Noel's J-150 is a pipe dream so this is likely the closest I'll ever get

God, imagine if Oasis did a box set like that. Like a Definitely Maybe tour box set, or a complete August of 1996 set, or Be Here Now, Don't Believe The Truth or something along those lines.

People have been complaining about their prices being high, but honestly in terms of build quality and materials (and electronics, for electric guitars) they're incredibile.

This is the thing, loads of people shit on Epiphone for the fact that their instruments are becoming more and more expensive but there's a reason behind it! The gap between them and Gibson is as close as it's ever been and so it's only natural that the price people have to pay will only go up. I'm sure the people who are pissed have never even looked at the specs because it doesn't make sense otherwise (plus, no one's forcing people to blow all their money on the high-end stuff as their mid-low range guitars are still great imo)

It’s absolutely astonishing how good Liam sounds in 2024.
These vocals rival his best circa 2001. It’s that good. So proud of this man.

Did Oasis ever play Flashbax live? Don’t think they did, although I’d love to be corrected…
