If you told me Better Days was a Noel written, Liam sung song released as the first single to an Oasis eighth album, I would believe you. Which is why it has always been my favorite LG solo song, beside the fact it just being a very uplifting joyful song. But in general, I'm not a huge fan of Liam's solo work *except* C'mon You Know. When it came out, I was very excited. The album has a lot of depth and is way more musically interesting. I desperately hoped he would follow this direction but LG&JS happened....I wonder if anyone feels the same way? I really like Better Days it came out during a really good time in my life. I've had quite a few weird co-incidences with Gallagher related music either leaking or being released the night before or morning of when I go away on holiday and Better Days was another one that was released the morning I went away to Africa to spend a couple of weeks doing wildlife conservation and that song kinda soundtracked that trip for me, It was April/May time after a long winter here in the UK then suddenly I was in the sunshine, out in nature doing something I loved and I'll always associate that song with that time. Saying that though looking at it objectively I don't think it's a very good song and if like Beady said if Noel wrote that as a single for a hypothetical Oasis album I would have been quite disappointed. It does sound like a Noel song but it sounds like a throwaway Noel song from his early 2000's era, it kinda reminds me of The Good Rebel crossed with All In The Mind which he wrote around that time. I love the song but more for what it means to me as opposed to thinking it's that good.

It is absolutely insane to me that Definitely Maybe to the cancelled Paris gig was 15 years, and Beady Eye to today was 15 years. It won't be long now until we can say that the band have been broken up longer than they were ever together.

On this day in 1996 Oasis released Champagne Supernova as a radio only single in America. Also, on this day in 1998 Oasis released Don't Go Away as a single in Japan.

Is anyone else going to the Oasis exhibition in Manchester on the weekend of 14-16th June? There’s a Q&A with Brian cannon. I’m very excited about that!

Anyone out there who can fix distorted audio? (If possible) Get in touch I fiddled a bit over lunch. You can take some of the harshness out with a low pass filter starting around 2k, but those spots like 0m42s are still super rough. Save us, AI.

It's a toss up for me but the best Oasis 2.0 is between TIOBI or Gas Panic. Both so different to the archetypal Oasis song. I love TIOBI because the song is about being lazy and everything about it is lazy. The chord sequence are just so natural and you can do it without thinking. The solo is instinctive and lazy and the singing is great.
Gas panic is almost the complete opposite - so technical and psychadelic. You can tell Noel really thought about the song painstakingly. I think Noel has a complex about songs where he lets us into his soul so doesn't talk about Gas Panic as much as he should.

You're right, he hasn't talked about Gas Panic very much. Obviously they loved playing it live in 2000-2001. I wonder why it was dropped. Without Noel's drug addiction we wouldn't have Gas Panic.

Despite the psychedelic lyrics and other worldly imagery described, Gas Panic! is clearly one of Noel’s most personal songs; that album as a whole has him bearing his soul quite a bit, which is why I don’t think he likes revisiting it much nowadays. It was a very dark period for him personally.
Absolute fucking mega tune though, my favourite Oasis song

Hopefully Liam will bring Gas Panic back in his set lists now and again at some point. He played it during the WMWN tour; I got to hear it when I flew over for the Dublin gigs. It’s one of my favorite tunes from any band, ever.

Definitely not a coincidence that Man City are playing West Ham as the last game of the season. 30th Anniversary of the Ferry Incident with West Ham fans and it's the 30th Anniversary of Definitely Maybe. AND we're getting a Definitely Maybe Man City kit? I feel like we're getting a 30th Anniversary Wibbling Rivalry limited edition picture disc soon! Come on, Ignition, give us what we want!

As the dull thud of another DM reissue hits, it’s got me thinking just how neglected the 00’s output has been.
People might ask the question ‘who would buy it?’ but let’s face it it’ll be the exact hardcore fans who buy the 4lp version of DM! Fair weather fans will just stream it as always.
My dream reissue would be a 3 LP SOTSOG version
Vinyl One- Original Album
Vinyl Two- Bsides and Live Side A Let’s All Make Believe Cigarettes in Hell One Way Road Helter Skelter Full On Carry Us All Side B Go Let It Out- Jools Holland Who Feels Love?- Jools Holland Gas Panic- Jools Holland Where Did It All Go Wrong?- Jools Holland Sunday Morning Call- MTV Studios
Vinyl 3- Noel’s 1999 Demos
Wouldn’t happen in a million years but a man can dream can’t he? Oh and as it’s my wish list, makes the vinyls Purple/Blue like the sky on the front of the album please😂😂

Think it would be a shame not to have the brilliant Maida Vale sessions though; Talk Tonight (Electric), RNR Star, Who Feels Love, Sunday Morning Call. Ooh and the weird spooky acoustic Noel version of Gas Panic!

I'm maybe late to the party on this, but is the Monstrous Psychedelic Bubble mix of Falling Down not officially available for download anywhere? I was looking on a few different download stores and there's no sign of it.

I knew there was the 12", I just assumed there would have been a digital release too. That's annoying.
