It was 22 years ago yesterday since Oasis appeared on CDUK Headliners. 2002-03-16 CD:UK, ITV, Waterloo Studios, London, UK this was a brilliant performance, love RNRS. Lots of energy here and the crowd were great too I’ve always thought it was better than the performance they did for TOTP around the same time. I think Paul Stacey is on Keyboards off to the side of the stage by Noel. Jay Darlington joined the band for the main tour but Paul Stacey did the first few performances, you can see him playing during the columbiahalle gig in Berlin on 10th February 2002

After SOTSOG, Oasis released a grand total of 8 songs that were written by Noel and sung by Liam.
The last b-side* to be written by Noel and sung by Liam was Let’s All Make Believe in 2000.
*Excluding remixes and live versions.

And the b-sides thing... what happened. For better or worse, they became a democracy. They went from having one songwriter to having four. From then on, Noel only wrote about half of each album. He wanted to sing at least a couple of those himself, leaving only 2-3 for Liam per album. Of course, Liam also sang all songs written by himself, Andy and Gem, so we still got plenty of his vocals on each album. And there were some great songs written by LAG. But it’s a shame we lost out on the magic formula (Noel’s songs, Liam’s voice) that made the earlier albums what they were.

Made me kind of sad reading that, not going to lie.

It's 30 years ago today since Oasis appeared on The Word with Supersonic. Great performance but crap TV programme.

Really looking forward to that. Hopefully it's not just an unheard demo of a released song.

Really looking forward to that. Hopefully it's not just an unheard demo of a released song. I suspect it will be a previously released tune. They tend not to leak versions of brand new songs. Wonder what it could be though? I dunno why but I have a feeling it’ll be Heathen Chemistry era.

The title of the song is not obscured on Maxi's YouTube channel. It is The Morning Son.

Regardless of who's uploading it on YT, it will be interesting to hear it - especially if it comes from the Oasis era. Is it from the DBTT sessions or what?

We meant like unheard songs entirely, and they're known for doing that. When they put out Gem's Demos from 2007 they omitted Mindfield Feel from their release. Thankfully it's online either way. But who knows what other unheard songs and recordings they're holding onto...

Its probably the only chance for us as fans to put something together worthy of the band.

I’d say there’s probably an understanding with management that if it’s a different version of a previously released track it’s fair game. Unheard songs are probably off the table unless you want to get sued. It’s great to get anything at all but demos of Beady Eye songs definitely wouldn’t be first on my list of wants.

Unheard songs are probably off the table unless you want to get sued. It’s great to get anything at all but demos of Beady Eye songs definitely wouldn’t be first on my list of wants. No one has ever been sued for demos or session versions. Fans have been sourcing and sharing unheard Oasis music for years right back to the original NG 1988 cassette tape and 1991 Oasis demos. The Noel 2010 demo CD had 4 unreleased tracks which were shared and no one from Ignition or Sour Mash said or done a thing. When a group of us shared the Gem 2007 demo CD a couple of years back it had an unheard song, Mindfield Feel, recorded during the Oasis years and no one batted an eyelid. When Stop The Clocks and Record Machine leaked back 2008 they were both unheard along with Ain’t Got Nothing and Oasis even released a statement saying not finished versions and did not seem that arsed at all. www.uncut.co.uk/news/oasis-say-leaked-tracks-are-old-demos-not-new-material-49608/They would only kick into legal action if it was current album or songs being actively worked on. The current stuff we are talking about was found in a storage unit according to the video below:
