Okay so I was thinking of making a seperate thread for this, but it's probably better off here: Dear Lord, some Oasis lyrics contractions sound silly when you place the actually words in :
"This old town do not smell too pretty"
"You needa be yourself.. You can not be no one else"
"Get a grip on yourself it do not cost much"

This one pisses me off, because 'WON'T' fits the sentence structure, so why not use it as it's grammatically correct, whereas 'DON'T' is just wrong as fuck. What the fuck, Noel?

Most kids I know now don't bother with Television as they have consoles, social media and mobile devices instead to create their own entertainment. Still, the major broadcasters can continue putting programming together in the false hope that it's a passing fad and people will go back to basics I suppose...

Oasis has some awful music videos, but some really, really good (The Masterplan, DYKWIM?, Morning Glory, etc) TIOBI too. The story-line fits the song well, and Rhys Ifans does a great job to play the protagonist in it. Plus, his dance moves are awesome.

The Eden Studios Mix of Columbia is fucking awesome. I might like it more than the album version.

Oasis thought: The line, "I'm free e to be whatever I, whatever I choose and I'll sing the blues if I want" is actually incredible. To me, it's basically saying, "I can feel however I want. If I wanna be sad, I'll be sad. " Which is perfection because alot of people tell you it's not okay to be depressed or sad, but Noel is kinda saying it's okay to feel however you want.

2:04 to 3:04 from Some Might Say is probably my favourite Oasis moment of all time. For me it's gotta be the outro, what with the over-lapping vocals and amazing guitar fade-out. No wait, the chorus, with Liam's awesome voice and overload of instruments.. No wait, the intro with that iconic riff.. i3jfniewonuotgnwpi it's all so good !

I've currently made 12 songs DM era and MG era playlists (NOT alternative tracklistings) and despite loving DM way more than MG usually I think this is tough between my favourite;
1. Rock 'n' Roll Star 2. (It's Good) To Be Free 3. Live Forever 4. Listen Up 5. Whatever 6. Columbia 7. Sad Song 8. Bring It On Down 9. Fade Away 10. Supersonic 11. Half The World Away 12. Slide Away
1. Acquiesce 2. Underneath the Sky 3. Wonderwall 4. Rockin Chair 5. Headshrinker 6. Don't Look Back in Anger 7. Some Might Say 8. Cast No Shadow 9. The Masterplan 10. Round Are Way 11. Morning Glory 12. Champagne Supernova

Hadn't thought of it like that before. Interesting stuff. Puts me in mind of some of his other writing from around the same period: "I've been lost, I've been found, but I don't feel down." "Sailing down the river alone, I've being tryna make my way back home, But I don't believe in magic - life is automatic; But I dont mind being on my own, No, I don't mind being on my own..."

Did you not get the memo that critical thought and emotions are not to be encouraged in this "enlightened" age?

Here's an interview in which (amongst many other things) Noel talks about the origins of the song Morning Glory, and sings a line from "Blue." Edit: Here's a scan from Noel's notebook showing those opening lyrics to Blue, from Mr Monobrow's excellent Oasis: Unreleased and Unheard website. Thanks to frjdoasis for sharing this video on YouTube btw. I missed the webcast at the time, so was pleased to finally catch up with it now.

Thanks to frjdoasis for sharing this video on YouTube btw. I missed the webcast at the time, so was pleased to finally catch up with it now. You're very welcome. It's just a shame it's blocked in 233 countries, mine (Italy) included These are the only countries where you can watch this video. I included the copyright details. You may see this video disappear as I may edit the songs bit out and reupload the "clean" version so anyone could watch it from all over the world. Cheers for your insight
