Gave Digsy's Dinner a listen after too long, and I'd forgotten how infectious that piano solo was, and just how fucking spine-tingling that bridge remains after 25 years. Might have to lose Married With Children from my DM playlist to make room for it, what do you reckon?
DEFINITELY MAYBE 1 - Rock 'n' Roll Star 2 - Supersonic 3 - Live Forever 4 - Half the World Away 5 - Columbia 6 - Bring it on Down 7 - Cigarettes & Alcohol 8 - Digsy's Dinner 9 - Listen Up 10 - Slide Away 11 - Whatever
I'd love to keep both, but a 12-track Definitely Maybe just looks...wrong.

Personally, I think Up in the Sky is much more deserving of being a non-album-track than Half the World Away, Listen Up, or Whatever.

Definitely. Tbh the album version of MWC has never done much for me. The Live By The Sea version is so much better!

Agree with taking away Shakermaker though, and mixing up the tracklisting a little. But removing Married With Children is a crime that I forgot to mention. Perfect closer.

Half The World Away was recorded after Definitely Maybe was released so your tracklist is invalid. It doesn't fit there at all anyway.

Also they work perfectly together IMO - the thunderous ending of Live Forever makes the initial strums of Half the World Away even sweeter when they kick in, and that extended, howling intro of Columbia brings the rock 'n' roll back without it being at all jarring. I love putting that trilogy together, it sounds fucking great.

Imagine the shit feeling being in a band from it's beginning and then getting kicked out and then seeing them go global. Don't blame him for what he went through. I'd be fuming.

I own all Oasis studio albums on vinyl except Heathen Chemistry. Not sure why. Maybe the ugly murky cover. Maybe because I’d never listen to the second side of the LP. I only own DM, MG and BHN on vinyl, but own all CD albums in Japanese edition. i own all officials first press Lp´s,12"&7" and lot of promos. But luckily, i bought all of them over the years but some years ago! Right now some of them are very very expensives!

Radio X is doing the Best of British vote again. I think if quite a lot of us were to join together and all vote for just 1 oasis song the same (you get 3 votes) we can get something like All Around The World into the top 10. What do people think?

This post is aimed at anoraks... Johnny Marr enjoys selling some of his guitars from time to time... and look what he's selling right now through his guitar tech/ dealer: It's a 1980s Gibson Flying V,and you've probably seen one that looks like it in the DYKWIM video, but that one is a different guitar ('97 reissue) and it's now owned by a collector from the US. This one is very interesting because I'm sure that it's among the guitars that Johnny Marr lent to Noel before the Definitely Maybe recording sessions! Our davidjay has done a bit of research in the past: according to Dave Scott from Melody Maker (01/10/1994), this Flying V was used on Slide Away. Not a bad pedigree, huh? Check it out in these two pics from Monnow Valley Studios (the first one is a actually a screencap from the Supersonic doc):

I might actually be the biggest fan of DOYS on here - such a damn good album, and it’s aged well. Shame about TNOR, though - fuck that shit.

Regarding the guitar mentioned above... I told my theory to the dealer, he wasn't aware of it but he got a confirmation from Johnny and the Chief himself! It is the same guitar used by Noel at Monnow Valley. I guess the asking price is gonna rise even more now...

I put like 20 Oasis songs on in a row in a pub jukebox tonight and then someone asks me if I was an Oasis fan.
ER YEAH I AM.

Upo I put like 20 Oasis songs on in a row in a pub jukebox tonight and then someone asks me if I was an Oasis fan. ER YEAH I AM. When he goes to pubs Beady’s Here Now rushes straight to the jukebox & plays Oasis songs relentlessly until bouncers wrestle him out. So far he's been banned from 16 pubs, which makes him a casual fan; when he gets banned from more than 30 pubs he'll be a madferit.

I used to go to a snooker club where it was £1 to put on 3 songs and every single time my mate put on Champagne Supernova, D'You Know What I Mean? and All Around the World to "get value for money".

I once put 6 longest songs I knew, and those three were definitely in there as well and during the last song the bartender asked if it was still playing music from the jukeboz coz my music had been playing for like an hour
