Lyla is proper mega. Always though the music video was cool as fuck, too. DBTT era was immense. Liam disagrees

That is one song that really is saved, or made, by Liam's vocals. Especially the last 'catch me when I faaaaaaaaaaaalllll.....' bit. Hearing it with Noel singing on the demo, and I think it is a terrible tune in all honesty. Prefer erstwhile Oasis support act Soundtrack of Our Lives version myself if I'm honest Love Lyla TBH but...

When listening to Definitely Maybe and Slide Away comes on, does anyone else just think 'Shut the fuck up Noel' during the chorus? Sounds so much better without backing vocals. Are you referring to the pre-chorus? I tend to agree - on Definitely Maybe they are there and they grate for me personally. I am certain however that they removed them on the Stop The Clocks compilation, so some folk in management must have thought similar. "Slide in Baby and together we'll fly, I've tried playing but I don't know what you're saying to me" That bit, it is the pre-chorus actually you're right my mistake. Yeah and they did remove it on Stop the Clocks and I was even looking it up just now and it is actually pretty hard to find the original version on YouTube. On Spotify as well Noel isn't in that bit so I reckon Noel changed his mind on it after the original recording.

It's not on the remastered version either.

Chasing Yesterday is BY FAR the best album released by whatever former member post Oasis.
Same goes for Alone on the Rope as a single song.

I sometimes set Spotify on private mode so my friends don't think I'm listening to Oasis all day and all of the night.

Lol @ Liam going to hug Noel and Noel rejecting it Then staring at him for the first chorus of songbird a minute later I was at this gig, in the stands, stage left. I remember the crowd going absolutely nuts when FITB came on, and wondered what was going on when they aborted TUTS. As for ignoring the hug, there was definitely more tension than usual between the brothers during the gig. I seem to think it was linked to the aborted start, but can’t remember the reason from the time (Noel being safety conscious, Liam less so??)

Listening to this..
And it's really interesting. First thing we can notice is that at that time, Noel didn't really know how to structure a song. Except for "Gotta Have Fun", all the songs are pretty basically structured. An other interesting thing is that you can already hear those chords progressions that will become his trademark in the future. He was already developping his style, with some pretty melancholic guitar works. The vocals melodies were pretty weak, the progression he'll make within a few years, is outstanding. In 1992, he already had Live Forever, Whatever, All Around The World, etc.

I didn't even know such a thing existed. I'm not listening to that. It's too personal. Undignified. Like having a look in someone's underwear drawer. Each to their own but he made it as a demo tape which suggests that he wanted those songs heard by people, and tbh it's not the same as having Flatulence Panic or Beady’s Here Now pop round for a rummage in yer knicker drawer* * Sorry lads!

Written in 1992, IIRC. Fuck, what a songwriter Noel was...

I love She's Electric, Digsy's, Married with Children. Nothing wrong with a whimsical song and they are funny as hell. I'm quite sure Thom Yorke and Chris Martin have never been funny in their lives. Not to mention, all three of them are quality tunes.

I'm not for Oasis reunion at all. I don't want them to reform the band because I love them, but wishing Noel and Liam will be reunite as brothers some day.
But if I could get Oasis back, I want them from Spring/Summer 2005 just before/after releasing DBTT.
