I listened to the studio version this song again today after only listening to the live version for a long time and I was just blown away by it, it flows so well, the lyrics are fantastic and the instrumental towards the end that then leads into the final chorus is just so beautiful, plus I love the way he sings the final chorus slightly differently, holding the notes longer, just tops it off perfectly, certainly one of the best hes since going solo imo and maybe even during later oasis.
also a note on the live version, I think Noel should start using the orchestra backing track, fills out the outro so much more and and gives it a grander feel, the live version always feels abit too empty / quiet for my liking.
listen to 3:40 onwards, just sounds fantastic instead of just the keyboards.

Love the instrumental bit before it breaks into the final chorus again. It's beautiful and gives me chills. Live it's good too, but those keyboards aren't quite the same.

Love the lyric 'you've got to be strong enough for love' very touching by Noels standards. The song itself is one of his best and one of my ten favourite songs ever released by a Gallagher. Shame the video for the single is so cringe worthy.

The choir and strings are amazing. Ive listened to that way too much to appreciate the final song when it came out. Even the soundcheck version is better. I dont really like the final production of this tune.

One of his best. Absolutely love it. Especially the guitar bit at the end before the piano takes over.

Imagine Liam singing it!! Bloody hell! That would epic!! If he'd wrote it whilst in Oasis it could've been a worldwide hit. I still love the NGHFB version but an Oasis version could've smashed the Billboard chart!!

Love it.
The way the intro crashes into Noel's soaring vocals and the chorus with the even higher-flying choir is just unreal. It's an onslaught of a grandiose nature and some of Noel's post-BHN songwriting that stands toe-to-toe with some of the best songs he's ever penned imo.

It is the song I do like from NGHFB, much more than If I had a gun or The death of you and me. I usually listen to it every day

In my top 3 HFB songs for sure, probably in my top 20 Oasis related songs ever too The instrumental break before the last chorus is such a wonderful piece of music,I love the lyrics too,and I think it's one of those songs that's brilliant no matter what version you're listening to (live, studio version, acoustic version, they're all great)

Was a bit off of it first because of the backing vox and though it could have been rawer, but i soon loved and never looked back.
A great way to open a new career and one of the best song he's ever written.

Incredible track. Wish he would play the solo on his guitar live instead of having Mike Rowe do it...that melody would be beautiful on the guitar.

Absoultely brilliant tune. I remember when it first became available I must have literally listened to it over hundred times within about a week or two. I played it constantly.
It's certainly one of the best HFB songs are gotta be up there with Noel's all time best.
Dare I say it 10/10

The “you've been drifting and stealing” verse with the keys in the background represents one of the greatest moments on HFB. Absolutely epic.

The ONLY thing that bugs me about this song is the lame Nickelback echoes added at the start of Noel's vocals. Totally not needed and sounds cheap. The demo of this song is probably how it should have been attempted. Still a beast of a tune live.

the studio track is brilliant but it came to life for being during the live performances. I was at the Melkweg gig in 2011 and the gig came to life after this tune. Sounds even better on the last tour...dare i say...a classic
