I like the demo more than the studio version.
Totally forgotten that I pre-ordered this single myself.

That was rather nice. Should totally be played at his acoustic gigs. Especially with Mikey Rowe on the keyboards! I was never a big fan of the mellotron intro on the studio version. Like the acoustic strums more.

Sounds alright, although I wouldn't say it's been worth the wait since the single was announced...

Anybody know when this was recorded? It doesn't sound like it's from the batch made prior to his first solo album.

love the rawness of the recording. totally 70's, I guess. album sounds very polished.. not that it's a bad thing anyway... but I guess the demo souds better than way. totally could have been a single.. in another century.

This version is marvelous. Let's hope he releases a demo record like he did last time.

Better than the album version. It's still my least favorite track from CY though...

It's not a demo. It's an acoustic mix of the album version. Identical tempo and vocal. Even got some of the electrics making their way through in the background of the mix.

Was just coming here to post this. Unless this is one of those cases where he liked the demo so much he built the album version round it, then this just a bare-bones mix of the album version. It does sound lovely though.

I could immediately hear that this was just the album version without stupid mellotron and electric guitars. Same tempo, vocal, even the tambourine thing at the start.
Doesn't really matter though. I prefer this to the full version. Sounds lovely and I didn't like that mellotron anyway. I would love it if Noel would play this, but we'll probably get some old shit like *surprise surprise* Little By Little or something.

My favourite track on CY now sounds even better Why on gods green earth does he not play this live? Because it's Noel. He doesn't want to play songs off his new album.

Wow, those electronics Noel used sounds awesome, especially after where the solo is on the album version. Not to mention, it sounds a little better when stripped down, but I still like the dreamy feel that the album version has. That always gets me every time I listen to it, and it really helps the song be good, despite it being one of the lesser tracks on CY.

I would love it if Noel would play this, but we'll probably get some old shit like *surprise surprise* Little By Little or something. Just took the demo and laid it over the top of the instrumental - result sounds almost identical to the finished album version. Didn't have to change the timings or anything (although the demo does seems to have a slightly longer fadeout by a couple of seconds). If you like the mellotron and guitars but think they're just too loud on the final version, you can try this method and just lower the volume on the instrumental before you overlay the demo. Gives you a nice "alternate mix" that pushes those elements back with a minimum of effort. I'd post it here but it's derived from official material so I'll refrain. It's easy to do if you want to play around with it yourself. So either this "demo" is just a stripped down mix of the final studio version, or the final studio version was built around the demo. They're both nice. The demo has an intimate warmth to it that the final version is lacking but I do like the Harrison/Bowie feel of the album version. Be lovely to hear Liam growl his way through it - out of all Noel's solo stuff I think it would suit his current vocal range just nicely. There was no-one to be seen, No-one left to hear mah... screeee-aaaamam.

Would perfer an acoustic mix of the entire album. I already know Riverman, WTSRTS and Mighty I would sound immense.

Well, except the ones the AA are complaining about. Weird that people thing this song is one of the worst on CY. I believe it's one of the more adventurous. And the chord sequence is a first for Mr Noel Gallagher.

It may still be the demo though, it wouldn't be the first time Noel took a demo, polished it off and put it on a record.

All different recordings, all different Noel vocals. Maybe it's different because he was the producer on this one.

Shame he didn't play this on the Radio 2 gig along with Dying Of The Light as well, Gem would add some glorious touches to it I reckon. I prefer the finished, polished version though.

Why the hell is everyone getting so bent outta shape over whether this is a "demo" or a "stripped down version of the final product"? Oh, it has the EXACT same timing? Well, that's conclusive proof, cos god forbid anyone would ever use a click track to record a demo?
Stop trying to second guess everything and take it for what it is. It's called the demo, let's accept that it's the demo.
