I always wondered. If they were about to put out a double album but then didn't want to give Sony too much, why not record all the songs, give Sony DBTT, then a year later put out the other half as the next album? Just imagine if they put out two albums as good as DBTT within a year of each other. That'd be one hell of a statement!

it would be a very cool statement i can think of a couple of reasons why they wouldnt a) they probably are just talking it up a bit, and may not have a double album of fully recorded stuff. i dont doubt that they have some good songs written, but not ready to be released. i mean, everyone expects great things so they arent gonna be hasty in just releasing just anything, might as well sit on it, perfect the songs before releasing them. b)releasing albums so soon would be hectic for them cos if you're already on tour and then have another album released you'd have to do even more promotion

I think Oasis won't release a single until the summer/fall 2008. Noel's baby and LDSMD dvd should be strong indicators of that. Plus these are just the initial stages of recording, and I've read here that the reason for Oasis recording now is mostly because Sardy has commitments elsewhere.

Is Starkey recording with the band, dietcoke? If you have reliable sources and can answer this question - it will be great. Thanks beforehand.

Some people need to stop fretting. I've been barking about it for 2-3 years now, and I'll say it again: I firmly believe that a considerable sum of OBJECTIONAL critics (especially American) will annoint the next oasis album as their finest, or, at worst, at least competitive with anything they've done. Although theres a ton of reasoning behind my asssertion, many here have already posted very salient points: 1: clearly, DBTT was a great to fantastic album by just about any standard. Recognizing that fact, I think it would be terribly naive to not feel that more than a handful of superb songs HAD to be left off...especially considering Noel's penchant to keeping records down to 10-11 tracks (see every oasis lp in existence for proof). 2. On top of the aforementioned, there has been yet another 2 1/2 years for not one, not two or three, but FOUR band members to construct songs/ideas. Now when you consider the resumes' of the four in consideration here, how on earth could a reasonable person NOT assume that there would be at least 10-12 exceptional tunes in the wings..and this is ADDITION to the DBTT "leftovers" !? 3. The band will undoubtedly include sardy or another accomplished producer to construct the album. Clearly noel has the wisdom now to not pull another heathen chemistry (good album btw, but definitely could have used a 5th head). This wil come in handy when pulling the record together, as I'm sure once again there will be a considerable amount of great bits left on the cutting room floor. (forget the double album, it wont happen). ...i asked noel about this on his last visit to milwaukee while he was signing autographs and he said "that (a double album) was what 'be here now" was for". all of this, coupled with a considerable wait and other factors will prime the oasis pump. God forbid, if they can push out 2-3 lylas on this one, I think they could definitely maybe fall back into high favour with america again. and that wouldnt be the worst thing in the world. keep the faith. for christ sake, look at green day.

They've just done 5 songs at Abbey Road with Dave Sardy and will be back in November to complete the record, so I don't expect a new CD until April 2008 or later...

I think Dave Sardy is so talented he can make an 80 year-old Liam voice sound good.
