Oasis would be 4 member band and Liam would be jamming on a guitar and he would be great on it (ignore the faking on top of the pops - not so cool). Their sound would change and whole appearance. I think they'd look great!

Won't happen - he's got his heart set on a digeridoo for the next tour.

why would we need a third guitarist anyway?
The guitar lines in oasis aren't anything complex anyway. Noel and Gem are both playing rhythm most the time and they switch off on the lead bits depending on the song.
I really wanna hear some interesting guitar work from the band

Liam actually can play a little right? I was under the impression he came up with the simple riff for Songbird etc.

Oasis already have a mediocre guitarist (Noel), they don't need a bad one on top of that.

Noel's above average. A lot of people can't play a lick of lead.

I would say Gem is a better guitar player than Noel, but Noel is a better songwriter which is what really matters anyway.

I agree that Gem is a fantastic guitarist... But, let's not forget that Gem is just playing riffs and lead lines that Noel himself has already committed to tape... Gem hasn't actually written or created any of the riffs that he is so good at performing.
I believe that Noel is probably a better lead guitarist than he let's us see. The Oasis 'sound' is that of pretty simple chord progressions and I feel that Noel doesn't really want to tamper with it too much.
I bet if you were to be sat around with Noel on a Saturday night just jamming and messing about with guitars, he would surprise you with his abilities. JMO. ;D

Gem hasn't actually written or created any of the riffs that he is so good at performing. Except for when they played Hung In A Bad Place and A Bell Will Ring, of course! ;D Gem is a top guitarist. Andy Bell is as well. As for watching Liam play guitar with the band, remember the Go Let It Out video? It looked fucking weird.

Anybody who has ever heard Hurricane #1 should know how great Andy could be as a guitar player as well.
