When I visited London back in May, we went to this pub right down the street from our hotel. We proceed to order an unhealthy amount of drinks for only two people and get the attention of a group of Danes who happen to be there on vacation too. We all proceed to drink and talk shit over the course of the entire night, when all of a sudden Don't Look Back In Anger comes on and we all end up singing along. Being in a pub, in London, with fucking Danish people singing Oasis was biblical. One of the coolest moments of my life.

I once met a guy one night, one of those creepy mature men who go out alone one night in a foreign country. He had been a roadie for the Inspiral Carpets, Stone Roses and Oasis among others. We were both drunk and ended up singing Don't Look Back In Anger in the streets at 5 AM.

I was riding the tube one morning in Stockholm, Sweden, and I guy was standing next to me. He had very loud music on in his earphones, loud enough for me to hear what he was listening to. After a few seconds I realized he was listening to 'The Shock of The Lightning'. I didn't see that one coming, that was for sure.

I was sleeping in a hostel in Berlin, when I woke up suddenly with Rock n roll star playing. At first, I thought it had to be my phone or whatever, but then I realised it was a group of guys in the next room, who were drunk and literally trashing their room. Proper gallagher style

Yep I was one in a hostel with a bunch of Australians from Wagga Wagga and by the time they left there were no shower cubicles left. Probably the lowest form of human I've ever come across.
Anyway, at school we watched a documentary about the dangers of drugs in science and at the end the closing credits had Wonderwall playing over the top in tribute to a girl that died in the 90s, and the whole class sang along all of a sudden. That was quite nice and came out of nowhere.

During the 90's Noel had been critisied for his outspoken views on drugs so when a film was produced about the realities of drugs Noel allowed them to use the song wonderwall.

Yes it was Leah Betts, she was 18 and One For the Road by Ocean Colour Scene was about her in the second verse. Her dad became an anti drugs campaigner as a way of coping with grief. Slightly off topic but although her death was tragic, the amount of mileage milked out of it by a Government in the 1990s who on the one hand wanted to ban drugs but on the other needed the revenues from alcohol and tobacco sales was pathetic. TBH if I had to ban drugs it would be those two as there are less harmful and even (arguably) better things out there for you. Sorry it's not one of my usual long winded rants mahsteve

Supersonic is used on the intro and Wonderwall in the closing sequence. According to BBC Genome it was an episode of the educational series Short Circuit on the subject of homeostasis, which explained the concept through a re-telling of Leah Betts' story. It was first broadcast by BBC Two on 1st November 1996 at 11.20am.

Cheers guigsysEstring , happy to help out where I can. I find YouTube and BBC Genome are very handy for researching these kind of clips. As an aside, one thing I'd love to see at some point is a version of the Beeb's Snippets system, adapted for public use. Not sure how feasible that is though. As I understand it, Snippets is like an internal YouTube of all BBC content broadcast since 2007. Tagline is "if someone said it, we can find it", which must be an invaluable resource to producers.

Kid at my school's name was Michael Gallagher. A teacher was asking him if anyone in his family was named Liam and I overheard and said "or Noel". (This is in America Gallagher isn't really as common name). Teacher said he was surprised I knew who Noel Gallagher even was. This was like 3 years ago.

We had our works Christmas meeting today where there was a quiz for some light-hearted 'fun'...
Music section was 'Name the following Band's albums/year released from the initial's. It went up for DBTT.
Safe to say we got maximum points on that section.
