Oasis related gig #13 for me. Definitely up there with the best of them!
The Oasis songs were brilliant and the Chasing Yesterday songs sounded 10X better than they did at the O2 in March.
Fingers crossed for a setlist change for the April gigs!

If people want to sit down then I don't have a problem with that, it's The Royal Albert Hall for god sake not a sweaty venue like The Coronet so the type of fan will be different to your usual gig. People should feel comfortable sitting down or standing up, you don't have to jump up and down to enjoy the music. I stood up for most of the songs but also sat down for a few.

You don't seat down under a Noel Gallagher gig. End of. 98% of the amazing crowd understood that. And you don't complain if anyone is standing cheering to fuckin' SLIDE AWAY. Wonderful atmosphere in Q. Yesterday was like an Oasis gig.

Anyone know what was played during the soundchecks? I heard Whatever and Champagne Supernova being played, though there were probably others.

Amazing gig. I so wanted to get down to the standing area, but was in the choir section. But being slightly behind the stage I guess you see it from the bands perspective and you could really feel the great vibes coming from the crowd. Slide Away singalong was brilliant. Best Noel gig I've been to. I think Noel should do these 30 min acoustic sets more often before the main set too. Only thing that pissed me off was when I knocked my full pint of beer over during champagne supernova lol. My mate who came with me who was never that keen on Oasis etc, said to me after that was pretty special. He asked me if Oasis will get back together as he would love to see them live, my reply was after tonight not a chance, you should of seen them when I asked you countless times in the past haha. He played acoustic for 45 minutes

Very pleased I didn't purchase tickets now, knew he wouldn't bother changing the set list, ridiculous really. No, you can't be. Best Noel solo gig ever. Played 26 (!!) songs. It was special in so many ways. 26 songs that I have seen played over and over again. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure whoever went had a great time as Noel is brilliant live but I'm not interested in seeing him again until he freshens the set list up. Black Rebel Motorcycle Club are a great example of how it should be done, they literally decide on the night what they are going to play, you never go to a gig that was the same the night before, makes it feel more exciting when you're there as you never know what's coming next.

Just got back from London. What a gig, that was special. Same setlist (as discussed to death already) but it was an epic evening. His voice at the moment is just awesome, and the crowd really bought into every song which made it even better. The band all looked like they were really enjoying it, especially Russ! So glad I went :-)

You don't have to act like one of the 'LADS' to enjoy the music. You've obviously got the hump because you got told off during Slide Away. It's like having a go at a football fan because he doesn't berate the referee every 10 seconds!

I think it depends on the venue. I wouldn't mind to see Noel in a seat in the venue like Royal Albert Hall, especially if it's an acoustic gig. I had a seat at his Budokan gig in April, but didn't sit for a second during the gig.
I remember the acoustic gig Weller has done with Steve Cradock in Paradiso in 2007. It was one of the very few seated gigs I've been to and I didn't mind to sit at all and I enjoyed it very much.

Some gigs are better when seated, especially acoustic gigs and bands that make "softer" music, but some gigs are better standing. Paul McCartney in the Ziggo Dome was better seated. Not because it was boring or soft, but because I was in a seat in the top of the thing and was sweating "peentjes" when sitting, let alone being able to stand

I must have been annoyed as hell for the people who were sitting behind me, but I just couldn't sit down.

Love how who went there loved it and who didn't is complaining... hardly unexpected, if I went I wouldve loved it because Id love to hear slide away live etc, course your going to love it, but when Im sat here listening to yet another performance of the same songs weve heard before over youtube Im hardly going to be jumping around the room.

it must be laziness because theres so many songs he can play and hes fully capable of singing them, in oasis people put it down to Liams voice limiting what songs that could be played or Liam simply not wanting to learn the lyrics etc but it goes to show that Noel probably wasnt pushing too hard himself to do different songs. Im still abit annoyed that he dropped ballad of the mighty I to replace it with the incredibly safe 'whatever' I mean really? it shouldve been another CY tune but at least do a rare oasis track seeing as your dropping a new track. has "ballad of the mighty I" disappeared completely? not even one gig? fuck thats really shit! I would love to hear that one and could gladly go on withouth whatever. its been gone since before he started the festival run, hasnt played it since, he probably only kept it in that long cause it was a single, I believe someone said here that he stated in some interview that it didnt sound right live and was boring, I personally didnt think it sounded that great live, just didnt carry the energy of the album version however I wouldve rather he try to make it work or try something else off the album than revert to a safe oasis cover. what a life sounded abit dull for a while until he made it work better etc, possibly just gave up too quickly on BOTMI.

It buggers me that this genius of a man is so afraid of changes and opinions. Sure his own opinion is the most important but why so afraid?

It buggers me that this genius of a man is so afraid of changes and opinions. Sure his own opinion is the most important but why so afraid? I heard an interview where he said about rarities and didnt like that only about 11 people throughout the gig were liking it and I think he would rather people come along, hit them with a big batch of big songs and let them go away happy, if songs like BOTMI are stalling the energy throughout the gig then I guess I get why he no longer wants it in there, if people are having a good time then I guess the setlist is doing its job. If lets say one night he decides to leave out DLBIA and play magic pie instead, to us fans, we would be pretty pleased to hear something different but to the people who were at the gig, they would probably be dissappointed because they missed the chance to hear DLBIA live especially since Noel has a lot of casual fans nowadays because of his solo stuff.
