This is Ignition Management we're speaking about - the 1990s haven't ended for them yet. They'll find a way to fuck it up for sure.

Taylor Swift to hold onto number one spot for 6 weeks. In that time, Noel gets cold feet over his new album and cancels it, rehiring Dave Sardy and that shit Australian band Jet to re-record 12 different versions of The Good Rebel.

Ignition management on Instagram yesterday pointed out they're on holiday at the minute- don't know if that means the whole company are off or the social media person is chilling out.

It would be a terrible idea for Noel to use the MEN re-opening to promote a new single. Just saying. Not gonna happen this week.
My bet is still around mi-september at the earliest.

Shall I bring this up again? That's lovely. Big Noel and Little Noel crossing their legs and pointing simultaneously.

It's a charity gig, so people are coming for the hits, and moreover, self promotion for a benefit to victims would be a bit misplaced. At least, that's my opinion. Would Noel want his new single to be associated with such a tragic event ? Doubtful. I wouldn't bet on it. I know Liam did it in june but the single was already out. Mid september looks right inbetween Liam tickets sale and Liam's new album. What if the new song fits the mood of the event? i.e. Live Forever, Don't Look Back In Anger, etc. Yeah maybe, although i dont see it happening. Probably in the next week or so.

What if the new song fits the mood of the event? i.e. Live Forever, Don't Look Back In Anger, etc. It still wouldn't work because no-one knows the song. The reason those songs carry such weight at events like these is because they already mean something to people. The first time he played Don't look back in anger it was met with silence. I agree it would be a terrible idea. If the single was already out, people had heard it, and the event happpened by chance (as with Liam), fair enough. But this would look like he is deliberately using the event to launch his latest album, and that would be horrific PR and quite rightly, it would be extremely distasteful. I'm sure he's not that stupid, or callous. So we'll definitely be waiting at least another week. Hopefully some interviews will give us an idea what's going on though.

I don't see the problem. ok the money goes to the fund for the victims but it is more about the reopening of an arena. And he can introduce that as an exclusive to the crowd.

Not gonna happen, it's just bad PR. As Neila said, people won't know the song, it will be awkward
other few reasons: - It will take the focus out of the main reason people are here: charity, which in the end could lead to criticism - a come back single is rarely attached to another event (or a single for that matter) - last reason : Noel doesn't like to play songs people have never heard, let alone a come back single

Agree, almost no chance he tries to take the spotlight off Manchester at this event. The press are just waiting for him to do something like that. "SEE? SEE? Liam was right! He doesn't care about...blah, blah, blah."

Looking for positives in all this, it's kind of nice that even in this day and age things like this can still be kept a complete secret. Pretty impressive really.
It will make it more enjoyable when we do get it than it having been part of our existence for months beforehand.

Beautiful world... hoping this isn't some U2/Coldplayesque global initiative charity type single.

Hmmmmm, those titles look suspiciously fake. Who is that guy? DJ on a Manchester radiostation and makes food and drink podcasts, according to his bio on Twitter.
