We are gonna have a ton of info by this weekend. This portion of the forum is gonna explode. Ah, you say that. Been a bit dead thus far, though, hasn't it. To sit with elders of the gentle race This world has seldom seen They talk of days for which they sit and wait All will be revealed...........................................

I hope Come On Outside, Don't Stop the Happening, Just Let it Come Down Over Me etc..aren't on the record, great as they are. I want a genuinely experimental album next, it just feels like the natural next step. Staying in the same place would feel like a step backwards. Don't Stop and Just Let It Come Down Over Me are his best songs in a long time... Yes, I'm talking from Sept 2017 I just wish more people understood what Noel is doing and less people wanted him to sync up with trendy music. Just pick up a guitar and bring a melody into existence like those two songs, and THEN...we can talk about taking "steps backward"

They really aren't.

For fucks sake, why don't you all just go to the Chemical Brothers forum, post your nude self pics. and get it over with. I'm here for Noel Gallagher and Oasis...remember them?

Man, you're completely missing my point I'm looking for a Noel Gallagher record too. I just want it to be more ambitious, more modern-sounding and more eclectic. I'm not asking for a EDM record. Nobody is, I believe.

We're all here because we love and support Gallaghers, but it doesn't mean that we shouldn't love and enjoy other music as well, does it? I agree with carlober. It would be nice if Noel comes out of his comfort zone once in a while to try something new and that's what carlober was trying to say.

Christ...am I the ONLY person here looking for a Noel Gallagher record and NOT a Chemical Brothers/EDM/Dance/Electronic/Eclectic record?!-No. I like what Noel does to his/Oasis' sound from album to album, it's usually just subtle changes that keep it fresh. Compare any two albums that he's released and there's a distinct sort of sound associated with each of those albums. For example, how Morning Glory is a lot brighter, poppier and relaxed than Definitely Maybe was, or how Dig Out Your Soul has more of a groove to it and a slightly more modern sound to it than Don't Believe the Truth. I'm not expecting him to change things up any more than he generally has for the last 20+ years, I just hope that he releases an album where the sounds and atmosphere of the album really complement his song-writing well and help those 'moments that can't be put into words' that you mentioned in a previous post to properly click as best they can when they come along. For fucks sake, why don't you all just go to the Chemical Brothers forum...
-Because the Chemical Brothers' main forum is kinda dead, not that interesting tbh. Also, their last few albums haven't been great. Most recent one I enjoyed start to finish was Push The Button back in 2005. We Are The Night, Further and Born In The Echoes don't get many plays from me. ...post your nude self pics. and get it over with. -I tried. 'File size too big'. Shame. I'm here for Noel Gallagher and Oasis...remember them?- Yeah, I think so. Noel, he's the one presenting Bake Off since it moved to Channel 4, and Oasis is a soft drink for people who don't like water. ___ Anyways, you keep posting stuff like this assuming that a lot of people here have completely opposite tastes to you, which I really doubt is the case. I guess almost everyone who posts here likes one of Oasis' 90's albums at the very least (seeing as it's an Oasis forum), so based on that assumption, what you think is a good song and what any other person on here thinks is a good song isn't going to be a million miles apart in music opinion terms. At least the point I'm trying to make is that telling everyone to 'go over to another forum and post nude pics', over what is likely not that big a difference in opinion, imo, seriously just isn't worth it and doesn't achieve much (other than likely provoking hostile responses and pages of arguments, etc....). Hopefully the new album's good anyway

Seriously I can't wait to hear something from Noel, it's been too long. If it's a better album than CS then we have something to really look forward to.

I really hope Noel doesn't have to retreat to those old DBTT outtakes. I'd be disappointed. Don't Stop is quickly joining the ranks of Show Me Your Love as one of the most overrated Gallagher songs of all time. I mean all we've heard is a shitty recording at a soundcheck. Didn't impress me much. Sounds too Noel dad rock acoustic strummer. He doesn't need more of that.

Still better than In The Heat of The Moment or The Mexican. I can't compare a bad quality soundcheck of a demo to a fully produced albumtrack that served as a teaser or as a filler on the album.

If we had a choice of an album full of Ballad of Mighty Is or The Good Rebels, I'd easily take Mighty I. I don't like "electonica" or "edm" at all but TBOTMI is neither of those. Its Noel taking a slight step out of his comfort zone and freshening it up a bit. Sometimes you need a few fresh sounds rather than the same 3 chords over and over.
Like Tame Impala. An album like lonerism would be perfect. There was the right mix of rock and spacey sounds in that album and it is really perfect. While Currents is good, I felt it veered one way a little too much and most of the songs after Let It Happen were fine but also in the grand scheme of their disography, forgettable.
Noel finding the right mix of sounds without fully stepping over the line would be ideal. Don't go Sky Full of Stars by Coldplay, but for the love of Noel no more Good Rebels.

For some reasons, I was thinking of "Let It Come Down..." (didn't even see "Don't Stop" was mentioned) which is just a demo but still I think it could have been an ok b-side, better than some dross we got on CY. And for "Don't Stop", I must have heard it about 3 times and it's alright too from what I recall. Just a bad quality soundcheck but I remember the melody, thing I'm still looking for on "The Mexican".

When I first heard it, I didn't want it to end, and sure enough the lyrics were saying what I was thinking.

The Good Rebel is a shit song, but so is The Ballad of The Mighty I. Don't see how it's Noel out of his comfort zone, I'd rather say it's an uninspired Noel who tries to make up a mediocre song with some shitty arrangements. His voice during the chorus is unbearable and the melody is insipid. There's not a lot to save in that song, and I'll never understand why it gets such good critics over here. I don't mind Noel going out of his comfort zone but he hasn't begun to do it yet. He just needs to find his inspiration again.
