It's the Sun so no one is going to bother clicking that link anyway. It’s an interview she did on tv today. Sun have made it into a story but the words were hers. It's not about truth, it's about not giving the Sun the click money.

There's a lack of interest because most people outside of this forum probably aren't even aware of the fact there's a new album ahead. That is not entirely true, the songs were on radio x, absolute radio, Holy Mountain even on radio 2, Noel was on Jools Holland, so they could get a quite accurate picture of how the songs were received by the public. Agree with you.And he already did interviews on radio stations too,was on the Q magazine cover.I think the songs and his interviews are putting the people out.The promotion is the same from the last album cycle. And when the album is out will reach a peak.

I think this time he's trying (if anything is actually being tried) to create longevity rather than do all the business in the first week. A prolonged period of steady publicity rather than one mad push before the album comes out. He'll do good numbers first week. Whether he gets to number one or not I'm sure he'll do numbers that would get you to number 1 most weeks (personally I don't care where it charts, he's past 50, the fact that we're still talking about the possibility of an artist in his genre and his age getting a number 1 says a lot really) but he should sell bucket loads coming up to Xmas and I'm sure he'll do well at festival season next summer (songs like Holy Mountain will go down well at festivals).
Anyway, I've really enjoyed the four songs we've heard and I look forward to hearing the whole album in under two weeks time.

To be fair @godhelpusall , 15:30 is a ludicrous time to be starting dinner. That's definitely afternoon tea time. X He's only picking her up at half three. It might take half an hour to get back to Noel's, or longer if it's a school day. And then the lasagne's got to go in the oven... Works out just nicely, actually. "These could be the best days of our lives, but I don't think we've been living very wise"? Noel does himself a disservice. It seems to me this is a very well planned out dinner date. I read this in Alan Partridge’s voice!

If Keep on Reaching is as good as I hope, and the two songs we've heard live don't lose something on the album, that will be an incredible start to the album. Fort Knox, Holy Mountain, Keep on Reaching, Beautiful World, She Taught Me How to Fly - come on Noel!

It does seem that way, having the UK tour so long after the release chimes with that, and it kind of makes sense as christmas takes care of itself to some extent. I would imagine the marketing budget is quite limited being on his own label. To be honest, I've always thought having your big single release as close to album release as possible makes sense to pocket people's interest when it's at its peak. 3 weeks before and everyone's forgotten it by the time the album comes out. Release the single - you like it? Here's the album.

Just came back to Fort Knox after a few days and it really is incredible. Sometimes I just realise mid-way through the pounding drums, heavy bass, female chanting, ringing alarms, and epic synths that this is NOEL FUCKING GALLAGHER. It sounds like something the techno-armies of the future revolution will use to prepare for battle.

Hell, I came here to post something along the same vein I've just blasted Fort Knox LOUD through my speakers and it's fucking massive. It's insanely epic. The break after 1:45 with the descending bassline blows my mind.

I'd just played my Morning Glory playlist before it and it was incredible to hear the massive difference in style have no effect on how fucking epic the music was. I'm starting to really dig the transition into Holy Mountain too, it's like "Hold on, trip-hop's good but...get on this!". Some of my favourite details in FK are how the jet plays through the track about three times in different places, the little guitar line in that 1:45 break, and the initial string loops staying throughout different parts of the song. Amazing.

Do you think the Interlude / End Credits will repeat the FK motifs?

Often of late I’ve been waking up with one of the WBTM tracks rattling around me head, regardless of whether or not I’ve been listening to them beforehand.
It’s a strange sorcery Happy Jack practices.
