I really hate it 😩 “She bangs she bangs” Ricky Martin comes to mind. Oh my god. I’m trying.
The one thing going for Noel is always his melodies and songwriting and he just threw that right in the shitter. Wow.

Just listened to the whole song. Well...I don't know what to think honestly. Is not that great, but I thought the same with You're In Love With A Psycho and I ended loving it. Its a grower of course

For all the talk of 'new direction' the vocal harmonies are right out of the beach boy parody backing vocals of the Beatles' Back in the USSR, pretty immense sounding thus far, thanks to all for sharing this.

Seems very lead-single-y, fun and fast paced with a catchy riff. I like it, but I hope it's not (and doubt that it is) one of the best songs on the album.

I remember, years ago, I went to a huge party. At the end of the night, I was totally drunk & stoned. The morning after I was so sick I destroyed the toilets with the shittiest shit that came from my anus. Holy Mountain reminds me of that shit.

All you "kids" should stop sucking David Holmes' dick. He didn't do much except ruin a great songwriter. But you "kids" are young, you like pop songs that you can tweet, like, and instagram. You don't care if the song endures a generation anymore. Congrats, you have your album.
Fuck off.

I have no idea what you're talking about, but you don't need to express your anger in that way.

Yes, I'm a kid, I don't mind pop tunes, in fact I can love them if they're good, same as any other genre in the world And this is good, pop and good Oasis have never been Led Zeppelin, Wonderwall and DLBIA were pop tunes, they passed the test of time and became classics This probably won't, but it doesn't take anything away from the fact that to me it sounds pretty fucking cool I get the feeling that people talking about music sounding "like stuff that's on the radio" never listen to the radio and assume everything sounds either like Ed Sheeran or Despacito Sure there's a lot of shit in there but you can also find good songs and artists

All of the as you were singles make more sense for the charts these days then holy mountain. And if they don't believe me, they should just try and find a single pop song sounding like this in the charts in the past 5 years.

You don't care if the song endures a generation anymore. Congrats, you have your album. Fuck off. "All you "kids" should stop sucking David Holmes' dick."I think I've mentioned this before, but starting off with lines like this isn't going to likely to provoke interesting discussion, it's just going to antagonise people etc... "He didn't do much except ruin a great songwriter."
Assuming you're talking about Noel here... One song and three clips of other songs and a songwriter can be said to be ruined on that evidence alone? Haven't even heard the whole album yet, and even if the album does end up being bad, there's no way of knowing what the one after will be like. Statements like this can only really be made accurately in retrospect over an entire career, not the morning after a new single release. "But you "kids" are young, you like pop songs that you can tweet, like, and instagram."Generalising everyone you disagree with to "kids", again, not great discussion. A lot of people fit that stereotype, but then a lot of people don't. "You don't care if the song endures a generation anymore."
True this one. But I don't think it's possible in 2017 for a band/song/album to do something for a generation like Oasis/DLBIA/Definitely Maybe and similar did 20+ years ago. People can listen to whatever they want a lot easier via whatever online methods, so it's less likely for the bulk of a generation to gravitate towards a single predominant movement. Maybe fragments, but no music that could be called 'generation defining'. Basically, music's become more personalised and less social imo, which has its pros and cons that could fill page upon page of discussion.... "Congrats, you have your album."No we don't. That's in November. This is a single. "Fuck off."So long, farewell, auf wiedersehen, goodbye and have a lovely day

When I first heard 'Heat of the Moment' I hated it.
It grew on me.
When I first heard 'Holy Mountain' (about an hour ago) I was intrigued.
Not saying I love it, or not just yet at least, but it's extremely catchy.
And, importantly, different.
I love As You Were. I love that Liam is on such good form live and in the studio and that he's back to doing what he does best.
But I'm massively glad that Noel is now back at the same time with something that is going in a completely different direction - yet something he's been hinting at for a while.
It's the best of both worlds imo.

"Beautiful World is not really a song about how beautiful the world is, it's a sarcastic song about how beautiful the world is." Man, that's insane. That's insane, that's groundbreaking. It's just not at all Noel Gallagher to write a song that isn't lyrically straightforward or has any sort of "twist" or whatever. He isn't even unrelentingly positive more than half of the time (and I mean, it's a great thing but to have THIS is insane). The preview just made me feel like those take-on-the-world vibes but this... ahhh, this makes me so happy. What an insane time. Not to mention holy motherfuck he compared it to Can, a band I didn't even think Noel would know exists (except that he totally would, given how insanely deep his actual interests run).

"And there was a long process of, (a) me accepting what he was saying, (b) me thinking to myself, ‘But am I capable of anything different?’”
This is such a beautiful thing to read as a fan. Apart from their interpersonal shit which gets reported, just look at them. They're at such great points in their creative lives and Oasis hasn't even been a thing since almost ten years ago. That's insane. This is insane and this is wonderful.

Noel has mentioned Can and krautrock many times in the past. Especially around the DOYS era if I'm not mistaken.

I pre-ordered a deluxe CD, LP, picture disc and my friend in England gets me HMV exclusive with white vinyl and 12 inch orange single as Christmas present and I just pre-ordered Holy Mountain vinyl and a picture disc.
Edit: I just cancelled a deluxe CD and LP, but re-ordered a picture disc only. I'm gonna pick the deluxe CD and LP on the release date from my local record shop as Liam's box set from official store didn't arrive on release date.

I love that instrumental bit at 1:19, sounds like a sort of electro irish brass carnival. I'm well up for this one - party tune!
I have to say, though, Noel himself is the worst part of the track. His voice just doesn't naturally have that glam swagger, but his musical creation with Holmes is immense.
