Sally Cinnamon vs There She Goes. The La's vs The Roses. Liverpool vs Manchester.
Two very similar songs (the guitar riffs are essentially interchangeable).
May the best song win.

There She Goes.
I've thought for a while that this might be the perfect pop song.

First time I ever listened to Sally Cinnamon I thought "what's all the fuss"? One of the most overrated tunes ever.
There She Goes is pure classic pop though.

I prefer the Roses to the La's by quite a bit, but yeah, There She Goes is simply perfect. Sally Cinnamon is a good song, but not one of the Roses' greatest anyway.

Is this a joke?
Sally Cinnamon all day long.
There She Goes is just boring, la.

I like The Stone Roses in general a lot better, but There She Goes is the song that wins this.

Sally Cinnamon is incredible but There She Goes is pop perfection.

Sorry, it's not pop perfection.
It's a good 7/10 song.
But granted, it is a song spoofers like to praise.

There She Goes, pop perfection as others said Good riff, great vocals, good lyrics and an incredibly catchy melody Surely Sally Cinnamon has many of the qualities I've listed, but just not to the same extent as There She Goes

Sally Cinnamon.
It has a little more substance to it than There She Goes, in the way that the lyrics actually differentiate a little, and plus they tell a unique story. The guitar riff on it is also ridiculous memorable, but my one complaint is that the drums were mixed too high, especially during the bridge of the song. That part seems like one big rush of sound, and I'm not fond of that. Other than that small little bit, it's a good 80s British guitar pop classic; same with There She Goes.

"Your eyes are gazing back from every little piece of grass you seem to smile from every blade"
I can't be the only one who thinks they are quite shoddy lyrics?
"She calls my name, pulls my train, no one else can heal my pain"
So much better.

There She Goes by long shot.
I always thought Sally Cinnamon was somewhat poorly recorded

Sally Cinnamon is great but There She Goes wins hands down - utterly perfect in every sense.

There She Goes. The single version from 1988 to be precise.

Either way, ruined by these twats. Americans don't know the original band thanks to this lot. (Seriously).

How dare they replace Lee's scouse rough vocals with that boring garbage?

Mavers probably doesn't mind though because he'll make a shed load of cash off it, and he's basically been living off royalties for the past couple of decades. Would be interesting to hear his opinion on it though.

What's even worse is that she looks happy in the video while singing such lyrics as "There she goes, there she goes again. She calls my name, pulls my train. No one else can feel my pain.". It's absolutely disgusting and takes the soul out of the whole song, to me.

No. It's about heroin.
