Remarkably, the production on Supersonic is actually quite brilliant. Good production on any Oasis record is a real feat, but when you consider that Supersonic was one of the first things they ever recorded, and (if Noel is to believed) was polished off in little more than a few hours, it's a miracle just how good it sounds. Rock 'n' Roll Star, on the other hand, sounds a bit flat when compared to subsequent live renditions. Obviously still a great tune though

Rock 'n' Roll Star, on the other hand, sounds a bit flat when compared to subsequent live renditions. Obviously still a great tune though I agree with this completely. The drums and guitar parts all have a nice place in the mix, and allow for those cool backing vocals to work their way into the mix and make it one of the most well-produced Oasis songs ever. Up in the Sky is the same way too, and while it isn't produced as well as Supersonic, it still sounds really good production-wise. Rock 'N' Roll Star's brilliance comes out when it's performed live. Supersonic is also brilliant when performed live, but it's already shown in the studio version. Each to their own, but I like both of these songs equally. They're both youthful and have a driving groove or riff to it that displays the spirit everyone had within them when recording this album. Add in Digsy's Dinner, Up in the Sky, and Bring it on Down, and it just overflows (gently of course) with the youthful spirit.

It's Supersonic, for me. Both are absolute classics but like theyknowwhatimean said, Supersonic seems/is better produced. And that outro/riff will kills me forever, what a guitar sound !
By the way, today, I was listening to Definitely Maybe ,in his entirety, for the first time for a while ( a little bit the reason why I do that poll) and well, I think I had forgotten how much I love that album and why I "felt in love" with Oasis. Even a song like Shakermaker (which I hadn't listen for a while) was a good little pleasure to my ears ^^

Let's do it I see we've moved on from the Elimination Threads. Progress, not perfection.

And RNRS as it actually has a coherent message, like.

Supersonic. Itβs the only one I know word for word for whatever reason. That and the intro is awesome.

Rock 'n' Roll Star edges it out, because of its lyrics.
"I live my life for the stars that shine, people say it's just a waste of time"
"In my life my dreams are real, now you concerned about the way I feel"
Supersonic as well, is a rock masterpiece. Phenomenal vocals and amazing production.

Ooh, this is hard. I like Rock 'n Roll Star because it's the perfect introduction to the band, but Supersonic is extremely catchy and a better song than My Sweet Lord.

Rock n Roll Star is light years better. The Oasis mission statement, the song that sums up everything they were especially in the 94-97 years. I do think sometimes it may be Noel's best song.

Tough one as I love both but Supersonic just edges it for me.

Supersonic is the best chorus Noel has ever written.
