What bands or people have oasis helped or given a support slot to. The ones I can think of are as follows:
Brian Cannon - Noel met the artwork designer in a lift in the early 90's and asked him to do the bands album and single artwork. (Cannon was already working with the verve but it's still a breakthrough)
Mike Rowe - Legend has it that Noel saw the keyboard player in a club and asked him to play with the band. I think his first gig was the MTV Unplugged show in August 1996.
Travis - in 1997 they were relatively unknown and we're give a support slot on the UK leg of the Be Here Now tour.
Cotton Mather - the band were listening to this US band during the US tour in 2000 maybe also in 1999.
Proud Mary - Noel and Gen produced their album same old blues in late 2000 at Wheeler End Studios. The album was released on the Sour Mash label.
Black Rebel Motorcycle Club - perhaps not strictly speaking but I'd never heard of them until Noel mentioned them in late 2000. The whatever happened to my rock n roll EP blew me away.. My hey supported oasis at the Finsbury Park shows in 2002.
Kasabian - they supported oasis on their U.S. tour in 2005.
Any other bands or people that oasis have given a big break to or helped to add to the list?

The Real People...
If we talk about supporting bands, the list goes on and on... Some I can think now:
Jet Kula Shaker (Knebworth 1996 2nd night) Ocean Colour Scene (Knebworth 1996) Richard Ashcroft/The Verve (Oasis supported them in 1993) Heavy Stereo Soundtrack of our Lives - 2002 Arctic Monkeys 2006 Toronto Foo Fighters 2005 The Charlatans (Knebworth 1996) Johnny Marr ...

The Redwalls, not that it helped them sell records but I enjoyed De Nova and the DBTT support dates. Also Shack, possibly the most unluckiest band in terms of timing, though tbf as much as I love them they didn't help themselves...Noel releasing On The Corner of Miles and Gil via Sour Mash, and Oasis taking them out as a support band at various stages.

I think Travis also opened up for Oasis in 2000 in North America.
I'd also agree with Jet and Kasabian. Both bands worked well with Oasis in 2005.

The Music were supporting Oasis during some gigs of the HC tour. Richard Ashcroft has been long time friends with both Gallaghers and has been supporting them with The Verve and solo.

I read the interview where Noel said his favorite band at the time was Kings of Leon long before I'd heard about them anywhere else.
They introduced me to the Stone Roses, the Smiths, and the Jam and probably a lot of other people in the US had the same experience.

Black Rebel Motorcycle Club and Cotton Mathur probably got record sales in 2005 that they wouldn't have got without Noel talking them both up in the press

Yes that's right travis supported oasis during their American tour in April and early May. Travis were massive in the UK at the time with their album the man who (loved that album) but in America they were relatively unknown so touring with Oasis would have given then a little bit of exposure over there. I agree, the American tour with Kasabian and Jet was exactly the right bands together at the same gig.

Brandon Flowers OCS
The Coral supported Oasis on DBTT Euroean tour. Despite they're from Liverpool, I think it was Noel who let them support the lads as The Coral are very common to The La's. Twisted Wheel supported Oasis on DOYS European tour, but it didn't help them much...

Bands I'd never have listened to if it weren't for Oasis:
Stone Roses The Smiths Verve The La's Sex Pistols The Kinks The Real People The Jam
It was like a domino effect for me, after I'd discovered Oasis I went about and got into all of the above bands thanks to Noel mentioning them as an influence in interviews etc.

I already knew and listened to all of them except The Real People, but I wouldn't have checked out The La's full album or other songs by The Jam/Weller than the few I had known already if it wasn't for Oasis.

Twisted Wheel supported Oasis on DOYS European tour, but it didn't help them much... I remember NME slated them as, amongst other things, a Jam/Courteeners/Enemy filtered version (dug up the review NME ) To be fair to the lads it wasn't an alright but unmemorable (for me) record, and without the Gallagher's patronage I don't know if they would have been picked up by Columbia Records & the media, and certainly not by Ignition Records for the follow up.

I can't agree with a lot of this......... - Sure Noel liked Travis but they were gonna get big with or without Noel liking them or giving an opening a lot to. Noel also loved The Strokes before they became a household name. He was even gonna sign them. Either way The Strokes made it. - Proud Mary, despite their cult like fans, never really took off to any great success. Same can be said for Cotton Mather. They disbanded around late 2000/2001 anyways. - Black Rebel Motorcycle Club were a known and upcoming Indie band long before Noel name dropped them. They were going places. Early Pitchfork darling. - Kasabian is probably the one band Oasis' acceptance really helped.

I just mean people and bands who oasis have helped that's all, i'm not saying travis or anyone else made it just because of oasis or all those bands were successful. I'm just wondering who oasis helped along the way.

Maybe Ryan Adams? I only got to know his name due to Noel's "cover" (of his own song )

I really liked the Strokes 'till some point: This Is It: Excellent Room on Fire: Good First Impressions of Earth: Ok Angles: Unlistenable Comedown Machine: When the first song came out ('All The Time') I thought they were back. Wrong! Unlistenable. And better not mentioning Julian Casablanca's solo... (this is my opinion and blah blah blah....)

The Coral definitely. Although I'd heard of them prior to Finsbury in 02, it was those gigs which helped them reach a far wider audience,
Can't agree with Ryan Adams. That man is a genius and was known Worldwide before his Wonderwall cover (his two most successful albums are pre WW)
BRMC to a certain extent. Whilst there success wasn't down to Oasis, again that Finsbury gig helped them reach a wider audience,
Then there's the obvious ones Travis, OCS, Jet
