Alone On a The Rope is one of those songs where Noel properly lets his guard down and shows us what he really wants to write about. I'd take Alone On The Rope over 10 In The Heat Of The Moments, I'd much rather have that soulful quality than another faceless tune with a big chorus. Erm... How do you know that's what he really wants to write about? I'm guessing that's an empty statement. I'll happily take as many faceless (??) tunes with big choruses as Noel's got. They're the reason Noel got anywhere and why he is held in high regard by so many. It's what Noel does best. It's In The Heat Of The Moment for me. In the Heat of the Moment is the Don't Look Back in Anger from CY

Lovely girl, short temper. I daresay that this comment will not go down well with 'er. I'm a very patient person and only lose my patience when someone makes an extremely annoying or stupid comment. My job taught me to ignore certain stupid things, like some of the comments that have been made already.

I'm still waiting for your "exclusive inside info" on how Do the Damage sounds like. Since October 2014.

In the Heat of the Moment is the Don't Look Back in Anger from CY With a dash of Wonderwall, considering it actually had some minor success in the US, too. It got played on many alternative rock radio stations (including my local one), and ESPN also used it for some of their coverage of football and IndyCar (was used as the music for the Indy 500 outro)

Think it would benefit from being stripped back a bit more, the rhythm section sounds too busy. Still think it's one of his best solo songs though.

The big chorus thing is evidently what he's best at doing, he could write those in an afternoon nap, but the more tender moments are special because it's not something he does especially often. Maybe not what he wants to write about, true, but when he lets his guard down and shows us his more contemplative side it's usually a finer moment on an album.

I think he's pretty good at both actually.

It's great
But I can't listen to it anymore..
Why it isn't on the first album is still a mistery for me
