Gem.
Off at the Next Exit, Back After the Break, The Roller. Some of the best songs Beady Eye did right there. Not to mention, he also did Ballroom Figured, Iz Rite, Second Bite of the Apple (good song musically), and Three Ring Circus. I reckon those are all really good songs, and makes him stand out from the other two.

The best song of the band was Flick of The Finger, which they all wrote together, basically - it was an old song written by Liam, with Lyrics by Gem and Andy.
Highlights (in my opinion, obviously)
Liam - Wigwam, Morning Son, Soul Love, Start Anew, Evil Eye
Gem - In the Bubble with a Bullet, Iz Rite, Ballroom Figured, Back After the Break, Off at the Next Exit
Andy - Four Letter Word, Soon Come Tomorrow
I think Gem maybe was more consistent, but Liam's best songs were the true highlights from the band.

Gem. The Roller, Back After the Break, Off At the Next Exit, 1/3 of FLick of A FInger. He had a hand in 4 of Beady Eye's 5 best songs.
Surprising. Gem wrote nothing of any quality in Oasis.

Not necessarily. He did write Eyeball Tickler, Hung in a Bad Place, and To Be Where There's Life, which all possess some sort of brilliance in their own ways. ET is a great throwback to Headshrinker and does well on its own, too. HIABP has a great driving beat to it, and TBWTL has an insanely infectious groove & great Eastern-tinged instrumentation.

Andy easily did best on the first record for me, and wrote shit for the second.
Gem's input was quite weak on the first, but he was on a role on the second, and across the bonus tracks.
Liam was Liam

I loved Soon come Tomorrow when it came out, but I've not been able to listen to it for ages, really don't rate it any more

Liam has so much talent. I hate it when he gets accused of having none. His ear for melody is quite amazing. What hes never had is the experience of guidance to structure a song. Some might say Noel had that guidance and used his own talent for producing melodies and then we got so many incredible anthems.
I think Beady Eyes too albums and bonus songs as a whole have produced some really great songs. And as ive said before i always got more excited for their albums than HFB, smply because you never know what your going to get, but one thing you do know is if Liam gets it right, youll love it more than anything that year.
Morning Son was stunning on first listen. I think its still stood the test of time now but suffers from that lack of structure and becomes repititive. Same could be said about Start Anew, which i think has a better melody, but suffers the same fate slightly. Wigwam is superb but sums up Liams writing for Beady Eye. It could have been the anthem, or hit they needed but completely lacks guidance and just trails off.
Flick Of The Finger has superb melody and is Beady Eye's best song. Its the route Liam needs to take for his new venture. Bring on board his melodies, get a producer of the same ilk, ditch the 60s inspiration and move into the Scorpio Rising territory. It will work and theres still a huge fanbase out there for him to appeal to.

Andy sometimes falls into that cheese ball music pit. This is very much true and though i love Andy's stuff the above has been the case ever since Ride's Carnival of Light back in '94, on which most notably his lyrics were awful beyond comparison ('Birdman' comes to mind), and he's been really inconsistent ever since. Sometimes even in the same song, take 'Turn Up the Sun' for instance where the first verse is great and the second is shite. He's a great songwriter musically though. Edit: voted Liam since he has good ear for melody and feels more honest in delivering his own lyrics in BE songs.

There tunes are mostly rock cliches to the nTH degree: Keep The Dream Alive The Nature of Reality Kill For A Dream The Beat Goes On Soon Come Tomorrow (truly awful lyrics) Thank You For The Good Times (I really wanted to naturally like this but the Some Might Say/Let It Bleed homages are too STRONG) My favorite Andy songs: Turn Up The Sun Four Letter Word Millionaire I'm Just Saying Girls In Uniform Very hit or miss writing overall. I'd still love to hear the 5-6 minute version of "A Quick Peep". That instrumental showed promise.

Liam.
Gem & Andys songwriting on BE are beyond appalling. Liam really saved that album from being a total farce, and The Morning Son is excellent.

They all wrote their fair share of great songs and all wrote some utter stinkers as well. I'll go with Liam, although Gem seemed to be the one to improve the most out of all of them since their Oasis days.

Yes because Don't Brother Me and Shine a Light are unbelievably great lifters of that album. Come on man! Those two are absolute shite, bar DBM's outro. Back After the Break and Off at the Next Exit would've been great in their places.

Liam is frustrating in that he can produce those and Shine A Light on the same tracklisting
