Where and when and in what context did Noel say this? I think it's brilliant and am interested in making sure it's completely accurate, along with the actual background to it. Cheers.
“Everything's gonna be fine. Stay optimistic. If there's dark clouds coming, they'll leave again. They always do. The world is round. Everything is round. The biggest invention of all time, the wheel, is round. Things pass, nothing will stay the same forever. No matter how big a pile of shite you've gotten yourself into-be it drugs, financial problems, fucked up relations-you will get over it. It will go away just like the weather. The sun is round, so is the planet we live on, as are marriage rings, and our eyes through which we see the world.”

The interview is reprinted there in full. The background for the quote was Arno asking a then 35yo Noel what advice he would give his 25yo self. Hope that helps man

I've never heard him be talk politics in the way that he does about Britain and the EU, but it's cool to see him do so in that interview.

I wonder if he still holds the same views though? I consider myself European as well, but after the past decade and more the EU unfortunately, for me at least, has proven to be as much about maintaining power bases and increasing bereaucratic and political wealth as any other system.

Nice, interesting.
His political views are too naive anyway. That picture of Europeans "teaching" the middle east how to coexist is absurd. As though it was a matter of cultural formatting. Rather, it's a matter of economic interdependence: the post ww2 binational agreements between Germany and France on exploiting the coal and minerals in the border is the cornerstone of the European Union. The Marshall plan helped a lot, as well as the following 30 years of uninterrupted economic growth in the west.
And the EU telling UK to stop manufacturing weapons? France and Germany were and still are larger weapons exporters than UK...

Good thing I didn't become a fan of Noel because of his political views

Ha wow never thought I'd read "maintaining power bases and increasing bereaucratic and political wealth as an other system" in an oasis forum! I'd better get me coat, this forum's far too intelligent for my liking!
