Just curious to see what other people think of the final version of Revolution song? I hadn't listened to the demo in probably 10 years, so I've totally forgot what it sounded like outside of being able to sing the chorus. Now that I've listened to the official version a few times, and I've gone back to the demo, I think Noel made a lot of very wise decisions in the production of it. The demo is painfully slow, and the song now is a much more comfortable pace.
Not too fast, but not plodding along like the demo. I wasn't so sure of the harmonies running through the whole song the first few times I heard it, but they've grown on me a lot. I used to really like the guitar solo in the demo, and I thought I'd miss it, but the song totally works without it. All in all, I really like where the song has gone. I know it's very easy to get attached to a certain version of a song, especially when it's been your only exposure to it for 15 years, but I think the final version is vastly superior considering where it could have gone.

Final version is clearly better.

The guitar solo should have been extended to last 6 minutes.

I always liked the demo, but he did a good job in the final version. I prefer what he did in this song than in The Dying of The Light.

I prefer the demo version. I wish he wouldn't have re-recorded it. Final version sounds like christian pop-rock to me

I like the finished version better. I actually like the instrumental over the guitar solo - it's more ethereal, and I presume that was the rational for going that direction instead.
It really is Noel doing Christian Rock, though.

And never played live. Really hope to see this song on the set on the next step of the tour.

I much prefer the demo and wish he didn't re-record it.

In truth, because Noel HATES the environment and shoved this song onto a second CD pointlessly, I've barely listened to the new version...

Hard to say. Both versions are good for their own reasons, but both lack what the other brings to the ear.
I will admit that I don't listen to the new version much. It's been a month or more at least. Mostly because I'm so familiar with the song after years of listening to the demo. Same for the demo, which I haven't listened to since before Chasing Yesterday release.

I'm also surprised he didn't play this on tour. I think the guitar solo was great and would've liked it to have stayed in.
Most interesting thing about the final version for me is the intro. The drums sound like the opening of where did it all go wrong, and the following instrumental like go let it out. I reckon it's a great mood-setter, placing you back in the sotsog era in a few seconds before the song gets going. Anyone know if Noel's mentioned anything about this? Has to be intentional!

I prefer the faster tempo of the final version.

I prefer the final version, because it's got a better pace and I just like it more, but I really do miss the guitar solo.
Like someone else said: both are good, but lacking what the other one brings to the ear.
I can't remember the last time I've listened to it though.

I don't like the ending bit on the final version.

At the beginning of the new version it sounds like the outro of Go Let It Out, which my cousin spotted.

Noel loves ripping people off, even himself. Which is great, because he doesn't have to pay royalties to himself
