Well, I went through a period of taking a lot of peyote so it could all be in my heãd, but, I bet the person has heard the demöns.... God bless. If it's who I'm thinking of then the guy does have a cd of demos and Noel has even autographed the disc when he met him this year. webby?

It was the master copy or whatever of Standing on the Shoulder of Ginats that webm@ster posted a while back that I was thinking about.... But, I stand by the thought that the person I Was referencing earlier has heard the demos....he's the world's biggest Oasis fan... God bless.

Webby has an extremely rare, possibly one off reference copy, a great thing to have in his collection.
The other person is definitely the biggest fan that I know of. His dedication to the band is incredible and as Carlober says he has a lot of exciting stuff.

One of my favorite albums, specially due to the circumstances of the time. It's a shame how overlooked that album was. I really wish Noel had stuck to the sound. I think that, since that wasn't the best collection of songs he had, he scrapped all his plans and got back to the dadrock formula of Heathen Chemistry. Whenever I think of a direction Noel should take, SOTSOG's sound comes to mind. FITB, GLIO, GP, WDIAGW, FO, RIO... amazing. I used think exactly the same as you, pretty much before I found live4ever but the album did ots job really, we all heard it and we took it to our hearts it and it continues to resonate with us to this day. There's sincere emotion & feeling in the playing and writing of (in particular) WDITGW, SMC, Gas Panic and also the 2000-ish dissatisfied 'demo' of Hindu Times. Maybe Noel felt he showed too much of himself on these and didn't want to be so revealing again cause then we got the platitude, cliche-heavy HC version of Hindu Times ("I get up when I'm down") And it would have been great if Noel had experimented a bit more from 2002-09 but as fans at least there's this album where they did push the boundaries of their sound and personally, given their reactionary nature SOTSOG has always and will always remain a special album for which I'm very grateful.

I have got that boxset, it comes with a VHS. It is one of my favourite boxsets, though saying that it has been in my parents loft for the past five years. What's on the VHS? I only have watched it once, just after I purchased it over 10 years ago now. I remember being scared to death of my video recorder chewing it up! From what I remember it was an interview with Liam and Noel from Wembley Stadium, promoting the gigs. It had Spanish subtitles on. I'm not sure if Andy and Gem are also on there saying how they got to join Oasis, I can't remember if that was from that video or an interview now to be honest. I am going my parents later, if I get the chance I will pop up the loft and dig it out.

It was also part of the Familiar to Millions DVD

I think the VHS may be the same as the following promo VHS also from 2000: eil.com/shop/moreinfo.asp?catalogid=276392I used to own the above VHS and what your describing sounds pretty much the same as I remember. The band are being interviewed sitting on seats in a football stadium, something is telling me Boltons football stadium but I could be well off there! Edit: The 'Exclusive interview footage' VHS is definitely not the same as that FTM backstage interview footage.

Talking of rarities, though slightly off the subject Jack, that Slide Away promo single cover you have I managed to buy for 50p in a charity shop a couple of years ago. For a collector thats a bargain!

Either way it looks good in the collection until (if I have to!) I get a genuine one

The link below shows what I mean. eil.com/shop/moreinfo.asp?catalogid=42722

This might be common knowledge I don't know but after the link Teotihuacan posted to the Oasis interview archive I start reading though the SOTSOG promo ones and came across this from Mojo in March 2000;
That surely means I Can See A Liar took Let's All Make Believe's place!?
I'd let Liam sulk, he'd soon get over it!
Which ones? "Put Yer Money Where Yer Mouth Is" and "I Can See A Liar" - I was just messing about with riffs in the studio. But they sort of stuck. "I Can See A Liar" I personally wouldn't have put on the album. But Liam was, like, 'It's the f***ing Sex Pistols; we've got to have some fast ones on there because it's a bit medium-paced,' and it was, like, 'fair enough.' There's a couple of songs that got shunted off onto B-sides of singles which should have gone on the album, but it's either the singer sulking or, you know, have some semblance of f***ing normality in the studio - you've got to weigh up which one's better than the other and it's better not to have a singer sulking.

LAMB certainly should have been there instead of ICSAL. Then replace PYMWYMI with a finished version of Revolution Song and the album instantly becomes a far better listen.

Why not both?
Noel should have put both songs on th album instead, end of argument, but he always find a way to blame Liam for something.

I think the singer sulking might've also been to do with the possibility of Little James being left of, in favor of Let's All Make Believe, but it is very possible that I Can See a Liar might've replaced LAMB. If so, that's a real shame, tbh, because Sunday Morning Call could've been left off, instead of LAMB, since that song has much less substance to it.

SOTSOG is a huge record, despite having some flaws, but the bsides make up for that, partially.
We kinda already have our boxset with the demos being out there but there's probably a lot of unheard tunes from that time, since that was really the beginning of Noel doing real demos. It'll probably happen at some point.

Still one of my favourite Oasis records, despite a couple of glaring omissions from B-sides in favour of lesser album tracks Hopefully there is a welath of as yet unheard demos and songs from this period.

We have at least one completely unheard track in 'For One So Young'. Its a shame that slipped through our fingers a few years back.
