Just out of curiosity then Who paid for Gems guitars and amps when he joined the band? I imagine he probably had quite a collection of guitars anyway but on the SOTSOG tour he had at least 3 Gibson non reverse firebird 3's which are not cheap. I think he had a red one, darker red one and a sunburst one with 3 pick ups which he used for gas panic. He also had an epiphone john Lennon casino which he used for who feels love but I think he had had that guitar for years. Also Andy had a custom burns bass guitar which don't come cheap either. I don't know, but I do know he and Andy used some of Noel's guitars.

Would guess a combination of equipment Noel already had for the band, and possibly a management/band advance for some kit

Massively off topic but I really don't like the way the Firebird looks, non-reverse or otherwise.

I know when Noel left the band for the European festivals from May to August 2000 he left his guitars with the band so they could use them. I don't know which guitars Noel gave gem to use during the SOTSOG 2000 tour, I don't remember seeing any familiar ones. As for Andy I believe it was his Gibson trini Lopez that Noel used for the Hindu times video and on the HC tour. I think he also used it for mucky fingers on the DBTT tour.

Me neither, and I'm all for guitars in unusual shapes. Noel should play with one of these on tour.

I got this number in duedil limited when i google pretty green net worth. They turned over 15.1 millions. Im not a accountant and dont know nothing about that but if the sales raised 38.11% and assume that the companys value also raised. Sorry if im wrong.. No need to apologise mate, nothing broken or damaged, just a discussion! The LES article makes a good read, although the £43,000 profit on a turnover that size suggests they work on very thin margins, I assume from leasing rather than owning retail space, using high end materials and promoting the label. As I am not Pretty Green's accountant then I can't say for definite. With regards to valuation based on the fourteen times earnings method Pretty Green would only be valued at £602,000, which is obviously a very low figure. This does not take into account though the potential of the brand if it took off in America for example, where they are currently negotiating with Dept Stores to stock it. The 'celebrity' (hate that word) or public figure involvement can go both ways, as their actions and public perception can positively or negatively affect a brand's standing, and consequently value. Also in terms of fashion, it's one of the hardest to value, as you can't predict with absolute certainty what will be lasting- in my youth in UK Sweater Shop were ubiquitous but have long since vanished, along with Joe Bloggs and other brands. Therefore I think the £20m is not overly generous but a fair business valuation based on the current state of play- but as I said only an opinion, not fact as in truth it's worth whatever an investor is willing to pay If it does break the USA then he won't need the investment and asistance as the brand will have, in my mine, established itself as Liam's profile was nowhere near what it is or was in the UK & Japan where Pretty Green currently have stores. Anyway sorry if I have bored the a*se off you with that "business study paper disgused as a reply" above Interesting read.

oasis had a very good record deal at there peak and made a lot of money . Theres a story somewhere from bonehead that when he went to a cash point once to get a few quid out for a round of beers there was about 650 000 pounds in it. Mcghee only ever wanted to make a few million so gave them a really good deal but when it went into another world I believe they rewrote a few deals within the band , but everyone bar tony mccarrol would be millionaires I think Tony has enough money too though Tony's probably OK but he hasn't received any royalties since his £600,000 payoff in a 1999 court settlement Guardian- March 1999 . Part of the reason for him accepting this is that as far back as 1995 when he was first sacked it was made public he had signed an attachment to the contract that the other four had signed in 1993, which effectively made him a sessions drummer. Tony got alot of stick particularly in The Sun for settling out of court, but from a legal stand point a High Court Judge could have stated he was simply a sessions drummer under the terms of the contract, which would have cut him off from any royalties, possibly without any further compensation based on sessions rates vs what he had already been paid. Tough break but either he knew what he was signing if you believe the Oasis camp, or if you believe Tony then he still wasn't savvy enough to question why he was signing a different contract to the rest of the band.

^ Well, it seems to me, or maybe that's just me, that you READ through a contract before signing anything. True, it wasn't a nice thing to do, but he knew he was signing something else, he even admitted that himself. You're not signing a contract to work for 8 hours a week at Tesco. This is a record deal. Anyone who takes it seriously would read that through and question it when something's different. Even if you're only 22.

And especially given that even with quotes & stories in books and articles from the time, Tony must have been aware that Guigs and Noel had personality problems with him. Not so bad with the bassist, but with the guy who the industry listens to in the band because he's the songwriter and seen as the leader- not so good.
