Put that eyebrow back down missy, have you not heard his ruthless butchering of Ballad Of The Mighty I on this tour? I thought it was pretty good when I saw him,but even if it wasn't,it's the low bits he was struggling to sing

Sounded great when I heard it live tbh sounded ok to me too, but he didn't choose to mime it on multiple live tv shows, then bin it out of the your for no reason.. Shame he felt he couldnt do justice to arguably his best song not only off this album but one of best of this century What does that have to do with LAMB? That's not a similar song in any way other than that they were written by the same person. LAMB is a lot slower and not very high.

Can someone tell me why a b side from a. Era Noel detests is suddenly a "high possibility" now? He said he was trying it before this tour but he couldn't get it right

But on the other hand, "Let's All Make Believe" I was messing around with it before this tour started, so I wouldn't be surprised if I play it in the very far distant future..

Then someone said I shouldn't, because he butchered BOTMI. So I said it BOTMI sounded pretty good when I went to see Noel. And then you replied and I wondered what the hell LAMB and BOTMI have to do with each other since they're completely different.

This was in your response to someone saying he butcherd BOTMI live. So my comment was a middle ground i agreed with you, it sounded fine live when i heard it live, but obv noel felt he couldn't do it justice etc, thats what the hell it had to do with BOTMI I didnt mention LAMB at all. BOTMI was being spoke about at that point. You didn't mention LAMB in the reply i quoted you, others didn't mention LAMB in their reply to the butchered comment either, Surely your response that they're are completely different songs that have only got the same song writer in common would've made more sense to be said when someone mentioned BOTMI being butchered in the first place?

Who asked him if he will play those 2 songs? Bit of a curve ball question and bit refreshing to the usual, so you've met Morrissey and he inspired a song?

I've said this before, and its unpopular, but I'd rather have Noel put all efforts into studio recording and quit touring. Like The Beatles did. Even Ringo admits they wouldn't have been able to make all the great albums they did if they didn't quit performing, as he said most of them would have been impossible to perform.
Or, another example, David Bowie with The Next Day - producers involved weren't sure how it would be possible to play the songs live, Bowie simply replied 'We're not going to play them live', thus they were able to maximise the song potential without any conscientous effort as to how they would sound live. I listen to too many Oasis and Noel songs latterly and think they've been watered down merely for live purposes. That totally blows, as the end results are usually dull.
I'm not suggesting permanent retirement from performing, but I don't want albums that are merely made just for the sake of touring.

^ I agree, though apparently that wasn't the case with Chasing Yesterday, since he wasn't really able to work a few songs out for the live versions (X Ray Eyes, While The Song..) while others have failed to work live (in his eyes, like BOTMI).

I'd love it if Noel would do a double album with the first disc being a full-blown 10 track album with all the studio tricks to get the most out of the songs, and then have the second disc be a 7 or 8 track acoustic album. For the singles, he could do 3 double A-sides with a song from the first album and a song from the second album to make up the single. That way, he could do an acoustic tour to help promote the album, and have some new songs to play whilst on the tour (the acoustic tracks and the ones that would work in a live setting from the other album).

Or Riverman, which sounds beautiful on the album, but in a live setting, it's dull.

Admittedly there are a few songs, but I'm sure he had in mind the view to attempting to perform them. If John Lennon had 'in mind' a view to performing Strawberry Fields Forever, he would never have bothered with the complex layers of production on it. Sad thing is, I think many fans would be delighted with a full album of Lock All The Doors type chug rock. The only instrument that would save a song like that with its turgid sound isn't available - i.e. Liam's voice.

That's not to say they aren't good songs, but they're one and done type songs. No attempts at it should follow, or else you get an album like Heathen Chemistry. Although, I will say Little by Little, Stop Crying Your Heart Out, and Songbird are really good songs, and The Hindu Times is alright too. Hung in a Bad Place isn't bad, but it feels dull and uninspired in some places. LBL suffers from some of the uninspired nature at times, but it does alright for itself, and I really like it, especially for how it contains one of Noel's finest build-ups to the chorus he's ever wrote in (behind DLBIA of course)

He's still got melodic gift, I just think he should encompass those melodies in a new sound.

It's perhaps the fact that it's not the mid 90s that they're not seen as being, but yeah I'd take a concept album of Teitihuancans now. He's got it in him, just maybe afraid to branch out a bit (or too lazy). PS, I agree with you about LATD.
