1. many magazines called them so. and later it was coldplay. and I'm sure more bands were called that. I dont think there are successors of Beatles, they just were the greatest group and still there must pass years before a band becomes that big (apart from their music, society was changing on 60's and it was a mix of many things)

2. It has. Because mass media is a bussiness that is always looking for new idols, cos they have enemies there and specially cos the 2 first albums were too good to be compared with SOTSOG or Heathen Chemistry

3. Noel is arrogant in a funny way (I really enjoy when he makes an interview ) but drove Oasis to greatness since he actually believed they would be the best band in the world. And Liam... I think he's stupid most times. But sometimes he's funny too (like in Q Awards, when he said "this is for Robbie, as usual")

4. I think Noel says what he thinks, he doesnt care about what people may think. And I bet Liam acts many times. But I'm not from UK and I'm not too old, so I missed many things they said and what media said about them.

5. In this case, no. Liam had a great voice and his acctitude has helped to make Oasis more famous, but his songs first were shit (Little James) and now they arent as good as a Noel b-side, and he's losing his voice, apart from all the problems he has created along the years (mtv unplugged is a perfect example). I'd be happy if Noel left the band, joined a guitarrist with good voice and started a new career.
