I guess most of you are gonna say Tame Impala, but it's Foster The People for me They've got a great sound,Mark Foster is an extremely talented frontman, musician and songwriter, and I love both their albums
EDIT: Before anyone votes for them,NGHFB and BE do NOT count...at least I don't see them properly as new acts

Peace
Peace made two classic albums that stand up against anything else
Great live band, and really capture a spirit of escapism present in a city that embodies some of the worst of Cameron's Britain
Great question btw. Really hoping people's answers will direct me towards some great new music

Death Grips. YUH! More intense, more progressive and more rock 'n' roll than any band I've heard.... and they're not even a rock band.

ARCADE FIRE for days and days I said 5 years... They've been the best band for the last 10, 5 and 3 years. You didn't say "new" just best.

TAME IMPALA
Among the aforementioned, Peace is also a golden pick imo. I haven't listened to the others so I guess I will check them out. Nice thread.

The War on Drugs. Their first album is from 2008, does this count?

Erland and The Carnival
I discovered them at London Calling in 2010 when they opened the first night of the festival in Paradiso. Their self-titled debut album is one of my best albums past 5 years.

XD If there is a record I'm interested in, sure, DeadEndHipHop/Mike C-Town I'll check out too. Wherever there's a review I'll check out what it has to say. Whether I agree or not with them is an entirely different story however. Regardless, I've yet to hear a new (started in the last 5 years) band churn out as many songs that I like than these guys. I suppose it helps when they've released 5+ albums in that short time, something I can't see slowing down anytime soon.

I expected a little more love for the Vaccines. I'm finally starting to get into them, I really loved their 'Melody Calling' EP
Outside of a 'rock and roll' context I'd say Kendrick Lamar (going by the release of section. 80) and I actually really like Lana Del Rey. Felt a bit embarrassed buying her albums, but I feel like I shouldn't, because her songs are really good. And as pop music goes, it's pretty outré

The Vaccines are nothing so subtle, but I do think they have some great melodies, and sometimes some great lyrics

Best acts from 2010 - 2015
Beach House Kendrick Lamar Tame Impala Kanye West
Each have released two bonafide great records in 5 years, with one being a classic (Teen Dream, Good Kid Madd City, Lonerism, and My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy). With Beach House, maybe making a third - I haven't listened to the Depression Cherry leak yet. So it might be Beach House, although they haven't been artistically as dangerous as Kanye and Kendrick, or even Kevin Parker.
Honorable mentions - Smith Westerns, Spoon, Cut Copy, Arctic Monkeys, Arcade Fire, Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks, Frank Ocean.
